Arizona voters have a little over five days (until September 28, 2021) to take action against fringe Republican legislative attempts to:
- Take away Invest in Ed-Proposition 208 funding from traditional and charter public schools.
- Institute a flat tax to favor the wealthy and hurt everyone else.
- Suppress Democracy and the right to vote.
- Shift power from the Democrat Secretary of State to the Republican Attorney General.
- Keep the public in the dark with regard to campaign contributions.
There are seven petitions that activists from the Stop Dark Money, Arizona Deserves Better, and Invest in Arizona coalitions are asking Grand Canyon state residents to sign.
Six of them each need 119,000 valid signatures by Tuesday, September 28, 2021, to get the ballot referendums on the ballot in the 2022 elections to save Democracy, restore fiscal sanity to the Arizona taxation system, and protect Invest in Education funding.
In reality, they actually need 170,000 to account for signatures that will not qualify to be counted.
Arizona Deserves Better Director Eric Kramer commented in a press release that:
“Since we only have five days left till the September 28 signature deadline, we need every petition signed and returned to us as soon as possible. If we are truly to be successful in overturning these bad bills from the state legislature, we will need every concerned voter to act now and to defend democracy.”
Weekend events are being organized across the state.

Democracy and Public Schools can not be saved without your help.
It is time to stand up and be counted: sign the seven petitions by September 28 to protect public school funding, Arizona’s long-term economic prospects, stop the flow of dark money in political campaigns, and save Democracy in Arizona.
