It must suck to be Mitt Romney

A day after announcing that he is forming an exploratory committee to run for president — you know, it's like being pregnant, you either are or you're not, just do it — comes this CNN TeaNN / Opinion Research Corporation survey showing Mitt Romney falling into a fourth place tie.

Adding insult to injury, the racist birther "The Donald" has vaulted into a first place tie with Mike Huckabee among Republican voters. CNN Poll: Trump tied for first in GOP horserace – CNN Political Ticker:

Nineteen percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents questioned in the poll say that as of now, they'd be most likely to support Trump for next year's GOP presidential nomination. Trump says he'll decide by June whether he runs for the White House.

An equal amount say they'd back Huckabee. The former Arkansas governor and 2008 Republican presidential candidate says he'll decide by later this year if he'll make another bid for the White House.

Twelve percent say they'd support former Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, who was the party's 2008 vice presidential nominee[.]

Eleven percent [are] backing former Massachusetts Gov. and 2008 White House hopeful Mitt Romney and the same amount supporting former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Seven percent say they are backing Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, another 2008 presidential candidate[.]

Five percent [are] supporting Rep. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota, who enjoys strong backing from many in the Tea Party movement.

Everyone else registers in the low single digits.

Trump jumped from 10 percent in a CNN/Opinion Research Corporation poll conducted last month, with Romney dropping from 18 percent to 11 percent.

Amd_frontpage_0411 It must suck to be Mitt Romney. Dude, you are losing to a guy who wears roadkill on his head for hair. And even the New York Daily News portrays "The Donald" as a clown. Donald Trump: White House 'sideshow' diss proves Obama sees me as threat in 2012:

Trump's embrace of crackpot conspiracy theories about Obama's place of birth earned him a harsh rebuke Sunday from a top White House aide.

"There is zero chance that Donald Trump would ever be hired by the American people," said Obama's right-hand man, David Plouffe. "It's a sideshow."

Trump said he wasn't entirely pleased to see his mug dressed up in clown make-up on the front page of The News as a result.

"I thought it was unfortunate that The Daily News would do something like that," he said.

Romney still trails the other reality TV show sideshow, the Alaska Disasta, Sarah Palin, who recently decided to jump on Trump's racist birther bandwagon. Sarah Palin on Donald Trump's birtherism: 'More power to him' – POLITICO.com:

Palin-clown Sarah Palin hailed Donald Trump's claim that he has investigators in Hawaii looking into President Barack Obama's birth, but stopped short of bolstering the notion that he wasn't born in the U.S.

"More power to him!" Palin told former New York district attorney Jeanine Pirro on her Fox News show on Saturday, referring to The Donald's claim that he hired probers to look into the issue.

"I appreciate that Donald wants to spend his resources in getting to the bottom of something that so interests him and many Americans," she said.

"He's not just throwing stones from the sidelines, he's digging in (to it), he's paying for researchers," she added.

"[O]bviously there's something there that the president doesn't want people to see on that birth certificate. … He's going to great lengths to make sure it isn't shown. And that's kind of perplexing for a lot of people."

BZZZT! Wrong. The correct answer is: "News outlets and independent groups have examined the 'birther' issue and dismissed it as unfounded."

The Republican presidential primary is shaping up to be a race to the bottom to find the lowest common denominator. When a party has been overrun by the "Birthers, Birchers and Secessionists" of the far-right fringe, it can only implode. The GOP is about to go the way of the Know-Nothing Party.
