Donald Trump’s trade advisor, one of the worst economists in modern American history, Peter Navarro, is also a Trump sycophant who was one of the Coup Plotters of the January 6 insurrection. He even included it in his recent book about his time in the Trump administration, “In Trump Time: A Journal of America’s Plague Year,” and openly talked about it in his book tour of talk shows, referring to the plot as “the Greenbay Sweep.” Like in this interview with MSNBC’s Ari Melber, MSNBC’s legal correspondent (and former lawyer).
This fucking idiot, like Donald Trump, apparently believes that if he admits to his crime out loud in public it can’t be a conspiracy or even a crime. Actually no, it is a public admission against interest and possibly a confession. Ari Melber asks Navarro at one point, “You do know that you are decribing a coup?,” to which the clueless Navarro responds “No, no.” Yes, Yes.
PROGRAM NOTE: After defying the January 6 Committee (see below), Peter Navarro will speak to Ari Melber again on Thursday’s program.
After including the Trump coup plot in his book and talking about it endlessly in book tour interviews a few weeks ago, Peter Navarro has no legal basis to object to speaking to the January 6 Committee. He has waived any potential privilege which may have existed. The Supreme Court also rejected Donald Trump’s claims of executive privilege in trying to block the January 6 Committee from obtaining his presidential records. Supreme Court rejects Trump’s bid to shield records from Jan. 6 committee.
The Washington Post reports, House Jan. 6 committee issues subpoena to former Trump trade adviser Peter Navarro:
The House Select Committee investigating the attack on the Capitol on Jan 6, 2021 issued a subpoena Wednesday to former Trump White House official Peter Navarro seeking records and testimony from the former trade adviser, who has written and publicly discussed the effort to develop a strategy to delay or overturn certification of the 2020 election.
Navarro is among a growing list of Trump advisers who have been subpoenaed by the panel and, like some of them, it seemed likely Wednesday that he would seek to avoid testifying by citing Trump’s claim of executive privilege.
“Mr. Navarro appears to have information directly relevant to the Select Committee’s investigation into the causes of the January 6th attack on the Capitol,” said the panel’s chair, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-Miss.) in a statement accompanying the release of a formal letter to Navarro. “More than 500 witnesses have provided information in our investigation, and we expect Mr. Navarro to do so as well.”
Thompson added that Navarro “hasn’t been shy about his role in efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election and has even discussed the former President’s support for those plans.”
This traitorous criminal responded defiantly with bravado and nonsense:
Navarro responded Wednesday with a stinging statement rejecting the request, the committee’s legitimacy, and blaming House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) among others for the violence that occurred that day.
“As the domestic terrorists running the January 6 partisan witch hunt are well aware, President Trump has invoked Executive Privilege; and it is not my privilege to waive,” Navarro said in a prepared statement emailed to The Washington Post. “They should negotiate any waiver of the privilege with the president and his attorneys directly, not through me.”
Wrong, and wrong. He has waived any privilege by talking openly about it to sell his crappy book, and there is no privilege as the U.S. Supreme Court has already ruled. Hold him in contempt, prosecute him ,and send his traitorous ass to prison.
This is not Navarro’s first time claiming executive privilege. Last year, he declined to cooperate with a House panel probing the governments coronavirus response, saying he would not comply with its subpoena, citing a “direct order” from Trump to claim executive privilege.
This is evidence of witness tampering and obstruction of congress by Donald Trump. Charge him and prosecute him.
In Wednesday’s letter accompanying the subpoena, Thompson cited news reports that Navarro “worked with Steve Bannon and others to develop and implement a plan to delay Congress’s certification of, and ultimately change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.”
The letter also cites Navarro’s recent book in which he detailed a plan he dubbed “The Green Bay Sweep,” which he described as the “last best chance to snatch a stolen election from the Democrats’ jaws of deceit.” The subpoena also described a Navarro report released on line that repeated “many claims of purported fraud in the election that have been discredited.”
In his statement, Navarro touted his book and proclaimed that the last thing he, the president and other advisers wanted was violence and chaos that emerged that day.
It’s not about the violence, you fucking idiot. You guys plotted a self-coup, or a bloodless coup, to overthrow the 2020 election. A seditious conspiracy is a crime as much as the actual seditious insurrection by MAGA/QAnon cultists. If Vice President Mike Pence had gone along with the coup plot, we would have had a constitutional crisis far worse than the MAGA/QAnon cultist riot on January 6.
The committee asked Navarro to provide requested documents by Feb. 23 and to appear for a deposition March 2.
Prepare to move to contemt immediately when this prock fils to comply with the subpoena. Don’t waste any time on this fucking idiot.

Navarro is a professional crackpot who spends his morning’s practicing his stage moves in front of his bathroom mirror.
The MSM should be reporting on his CRIMES, and not INTERVIEWING him as if he’s anything than a crackpot and con man.
Seeing his face on TV being interviewed as if he’s a serious person is proof that the MSM is f’n useless and part of the problem.
Interesting information on Navarro. He was in Peace Corps Thailand, in the early 70s, but the normal volunteers weren’t too sure about his actual affiliation. He was arrogant and standoffish then. He was obsessed his entire career in Asian trade policy about China and advocated hard restrictions on China. Now China is hardly a saint in trade, but his idea that hard restrictions will just make them fold, was always a fantasy. That’s one thing his hero, Trump, and Xi have in common, massive egos, attached to massive insecurities. In his interview, he claimed Pence could send votes back to the States, and was then asked if Harris could do that in 2024? Of course not, he said. Just another knot in the massive Repub hypocrisy rope.
