Joe Biden blasts Donald Trump after Woodward reveals the Liar in Chief has been BS’ing the People about COVID 19

Bob Woodward’s latest work, Rage, will not be released until September 15, 2020.

From Mother Jones

It is already a classic and best seller.

The Washington Post columnist and co-lead writer (along with Carl Bernstein) in the Watergate Investigation, has successfully published behind the scenes accounts of several Presidential Administrations

Rage will continue that literary tradition with its narrative of the Trump Presidency and its reaction to recent events, including the Coronavirus.

According to analysis by CNN as well as taped conversations between Trump and Woodward, the President of Betrayal admitted that he:

  • played down the severity of the Coronavirus.
  • knew that the mortality rate would be higher than the flu.
  • was informed that young people would be affected along with the elderly.

This is the President of the United States and he admits, on tape, to deliberately lying to the American People about the severity of COVID 19.

Granted this is really not a surprise to anyone who has been monitoring the events since January, it is astonishing to hear on tape, Trump, knowing the truth, still risked people’s lives by encouraging a premature economic reopening in the summer and public schools to resume in-person instruction.

He has held political rallies with thousands of people (his supporters) in attendance not wearing masks, knowingly risking their lives.

This man is truly a monster and a sociopath.

Even though it will not go anywhere and the election is in 55 days, the House of Representatives should launch Impeachment proceedings against him again.

He has betrayed the people and his oath of office.

2020 Democratic Presidential Nominee and former Vice President Joe Biden picked up on Woodward’s passages on Trump’s reaction to COVID 19 in an economic address in Macomb County, Michigan.

Starting at about the seven-minute remark, Mr. Biden first lavishes praise on Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer for her handling of the Coronavirus.

He then strongly chastised Donald Trump based on the revelations in the Woodward book. Among the remarks, the Democratic Presidential Nominee said:

“On the day that we hit 190,000 dead because of COVID 19, we just learned from the Washington Post columnist Bob Woodward that the President of the United States has admitted on tape, in February, that he knew about COVID 19, that it passed through the air. He knew how deadly it was and it was much more deadly than the flu. He knew and purposely played it down. Worse, he lied to the American People. He knowingly and willingly lied about the threat it posed to the country. For months, he had the information. He knew how dangerous it was. And while this deadly disease ripped through our nation, he failed to do his job on purpose. It was a life and death betrayal to the American People. Experts say that if he had just acted just one week sooner, 36,000 people would have been saved. If he acted two weeks sooner back in March, 54,000 lives would have been spared in March and April alone. His failure has not only cost lives. It sent our economy in a tailspin. It costs millions of more in American livelihoods. This is a recession created by Donald Trump’s negligence and he is unfit for this job as a consequence of it. How many schools aren’t open right now? How many kids are starting the new school year the same way they ended the last one at home. How many parents feel abandoned and overwhelmed. How many frontline workers are exhausted and pushed to their limits? And how many families are missing loved ones at their dinner table tonight because of his failures? It’s beyond despicable. It’s a dereliction of duty. It’s a disgrace.”

November 3, 2020, is in 55 days.

How many more people have to needlessly die because of the Liar in Chief’s deceptions to prove to the residents of the Trump Zone and Fox Island that the Chief Executive Demagogue in the White House has betrayed them and does not deserve reelection.

He deserves a jail cell.

  1. So back in March Bob Woodward knew that Trump knew about the incoming pandemic’s severity, yet sat on the information in order to profit from it via his book. Profit over patriotism. In that respect he’s no better than John Bolton. At least he’s hammering another nail in Trump’s electoral coffin.

    • Woodward is as bad as Trump and the GOP and Fox News because they all knew.

And there’s more in his book.

      Here’s what you do.

You find out about something really, really bad. Crimes even.

You tell the good guys about the bad stuff and the crimes.

Then you write a book about it.

And we need to start a discussion about the publishers of these books, because they sit on information about crimes because they want to increase sales?

      While the crimes are ongoing?

      While Americans are dying?

      America, WTF?

    • I think it just confirms what most people should have suspected, that on this and other matters Trump is receiving the best information available. His denials have been ludicrous.

Trump sees the American public the same way he sees the attendees at his Klan rallies. Tell them anything and they’ll lap it up because he said it.

What is more concerning, is that this fat fu^k actually thought he could wing it. Play it down, talk trash, and refuse to develop a national strategy to minimize the infections and deaths. What in the blazing hell did he think would happen? Well, the inevitable is what has happened and he’s still talking that trash, telling the Klan that America is number one in responding to the pandemic. And now the same fat fu^k thinks it’s all about the vaccine. If he can announce a vaccine before the election, then he wins.

Trump is a vile, vulgar, incompetent, corrupt buffoon. And he was exactly that on election day, 2016. What is most worrisome is the level of support he maintains within the electorate regardless of what he says or does.

If we lose the Republic it will be because we were too stupid, there’s just too much ignorance, lack of education, and racism. That 63 million has proved to be just too high of a number.

  2. Don’t buy Woodward’s book, or Miles Taylor’s, or John Bolton’s.

These creeps all knew Trump was a danger to us all and waited to tell us all until after they all got a payday.

Seriously, screw all these guys for endangering Americans and allowing Trump to lie cheat and steal his way to the top of the Worst POTUS ever list while Americans die and turn on each other.

    • Per TPM, Woodward’s rationalization:

“In a phone interview with the AP on Wednesday, Woodward said that he needed time to ensure the accuracy of the President’s private comments from February.

“He tells me this, and I’m thinking, ‘Wow, that’s interesting, but is it true?’ Trump says things that don’t check out, right?” Woodward told the AP.

Woodward referenced a famous phrase from the Watergate era — which Woodward’s reporting for the Washington Post eventually led to then-President Richard Nixon’s decision to resign — in describing his mission for his forthcoming book.

“What did he know and when did he know it?” Woodward told the AP.

According to the AP, Woodward claimed that Trump would call him “out of the blue” in early February to “unburden himself” about the novel coronavirus, which then had few cases in the U.S.

Woodward told the AP that only in May that he felt assured in reporting Trump’s comments as the country experienced surges of COVID-19 cases nationwide.

“If I had done the story at that time about what he knew in February, that’s not telling us anything we didn’t know,” Woodward told the AP.

Woodward then viewed reporting on the contradiction between Trump’s private and public comments on COVID-19 as a political matter, which prompted his decision to publish his book before the November presidential election.

“That was the demarcation line for me,” Woodward told the AP. “Had I decided that my book was coming out on Christmas, the end of this year, that would have been unthinkable.””

Regardless, he should have reported it what Trump told him back in February. It doesn’t matter that Trump says things that don’t check out, not for something that has such deadly ramificaitons. Even feeling assured in May about reporting Trumps comments is journalistic malfeasance, how many thousands of deaths could have been prevented if Woodward had reported this then? Woodward is such a saint for waiting from May until now to report this instead of waiting until Christmas.
