Jon Hulburd announces candidacy in Congressional District Three
Today, Jon Hulburd announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in
“Our district needs a representative who is willing to lead in a new direction,” said Hulburd. “Voters have had enough of career politicians who get worked up over the same tired, ideological battles while jobs get shipped overseas and the deficit spirals out of control.”
Hulburd’s campaign demonstrated early strengths that generated national press coverage and vaulted the race into the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s top 17 “Districts to Watch.” The campaign’s first financial filing showed $315,027 raised in the final three months of 2009, more than any other Democratic Congressional challenger in the Southwest.
“Democrats have a running start in this race because we began to build a Democratic campaign infrastructure last cycle and already have a strong candidate in Jon Hulburd,” said Chris Van Hollen, Chairman of the DCCC. “Jon is an attorney and small businessman who reflects the values of the district and has gotten off to a fast start in raising the funds to compete."
