(UPDATED)Just Before Christmas, Ebenezer Trump Screws Over Students and Rural Arizonans

From Facebook.

The man who bankrupted a casino several times and has been convicted 34 times of criminal business fraud just made two decisions that will cruelly handicap the financial stability of thousands of Americans.

Just days before Christmas, the regime of Ebenezer Trump, the man who made life more unaffordable for people by increasing their health care rates and cutting back food, housing, and utility assistance programs, announced that individuals with delinquent student loans of over 90 days would be subject to wage garnishment.

Again, that is really ironic, considering the current head of the United States Government has bankrupted his businesses, including his casinos, six times and was convicted on 34 counts of business fraud. Earlier today, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) continued its habit during this administration of denying claims for disaster relief for Arizona’s Gila and Mohave Counties that stemmed from late September floods in those areas.

Yesterday, FEMA denied a similar claim to counties in Colorado.

In their letter to Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs rejecting her October request for disaster relief for these largely rural communities, FEMA official Karen Evans wrote:

“Based on our review of all of the information available, it has been determined that the damage from
this event was not of such severity and magnitude as to be beyond the capabilities of the state and
affected local governments. Accordingly, we have determined that supplemental federal assistance is
not necessary. Therefore, I must inform you that your request for a major disaster declaration is denied.”

In a Gubernatorial press release, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs condemned the FEMA denial, conveying:

“The people of Gila and Mohave County were devastated by flooding from severe monsoon storms this September. Now, they’ve been denied support from the federal government with little explanation. By denying much-needed relief, this administration is leaving Arizonans out on their own after their homes, businesses, roads, and bridges were decimated by historic storms. I will appeal this reckless decision and continue doing everything in my power to ensure Arizona communities don’t pay the price for the federal government’s senseless policies.

The Mayors of Miami and Globe also offered their reactions to the FEMA denial.

Globe Mayor Al Gameros relayed:

“I want to thank Governor Hobbs, as well as the strong bipartisan support from our congressional delegation, for requesting a FEMA Major Disaster Declaration in response to the devastating floods that resulted in the death of three residents, and destroyed parts of our historic downtown, critical infrastructure such as bridges and roads, as well as numerous community assets. These floods caused historic and unprecedented damage and has forever transformed our small, tight-knit rural communities. Our community is extremely disappointed by FEMA’s short-sighted decision to deny the State’s Major Disaster Declaration, and we respectfully request that it reexamines their methodology and determines that this devastating flood event meets the critical criteria. I strongly urge FEMA to reverse course and immediately issue an approved Major Disaster Declaration.”

Miami Mayor Gil Madrid wrote:

“Miami is a strong and resilient community, and I know we can build back from this devastation, but this is a frustrating setback that will have a real impact on our families and businesses. I will continue working with state and local partners to ensure we get the support we need from the federal government to support our community. I urge the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to reconsider their decision and deliver this important relief to my city after we were struck by historic flooding.”

Furthermore, Mohave County Manager and County Engineer Sam Elters stated:

“The September 2025 storms resulted in significant flooding and caused widespread, severe, and extensive damage in multiple areas of Mohave County, including roadways and facilities. We fully support the Governor’s efforts to request and seek FEMA’s approval.”

Arizona Congressional District Two Candidate, 2024 Democratic Congressional nominee, and former Navajo President Jonathan Nez commented on the situation through a press release:

“This is supposed to be the season of hope and renewed caring for each other, and yet FEMA has just denied federal disaster funds for Gila and Mohave counties after they experienced historic and deadly floods this fall.
FEMA and this administration must immediately reconsider this decision and provide critical support to families and businesses still working on rebuilding. And I call on our current Congressman Eli Crane to stand up to this administration’s callous response to this disaster and ensure Arizona’s Second Congressional District residents are not left without critical support during the holiday season.”

It takes a special type of cruel, low-grade bastards to do this to people fighting to make ends meet during the holidays.

Actually, it takes a special type of cruel, low-grade bastards to do this to desperate people anytime during the year.

Governor Hobbs and her team will appeal. Hopefully, FEMA will reconsider its original decision and release the disaster funding.

Hopefully, the rural communities in Gila and Mohave Counties will remember that the person they largely voted for, Ebenezer Donald Trump, is the one who screwed them, while the person they did not back in the Arizona Governor’s race in 2022 is the one who went to bat for them.
