Katie Hobbs, Candidate for Governor, Tells Democrats Her Top 3 Priorities

Arizona Secretary of State Katie Hobbs, who is running for Governor, said her top three priorities are education, jobs and the economy, and water. She spoke yesterday at a meeting of the Tanque Verde Valley Democrats.

Pat Weidhopf, Chair of the TVV Dems, relayed questions from the Zoom chat at Hobb’s appearance. Hobbs also addressed:

  • Being a Catholic who supports Abortion
  • Private Prisons
  • Gov. Ducey being willing to sacrifice lives to Covid
  • Freeing teachers from a toxic environment
  • Affordable housing
  • “Arizonans want a Governor who can admit her mistakes.”

A recent OH Predictive Insights poll showed Secretary of State Katie Hobbs with a decisive lead in Arizona’s Democratic Primary race for Governor. Hobbs had 42% of the vote and her closest rival, Marco Lopez, has 8% of the vote.

The survey also showed that former TV personality Kari Lake led the GOP primary with 28%, followed by former U.S. Rep. Matt Salmon with 11%. A dangerous reactionary, Lake recently called for Hobbs to be jailed for certifying the 2020 election results.

Lake is a fanatical promoter of Trump’s big lie who wants to lock up reporters, believes the domestic terrorists who attacked the U.S. Capitol are patriots, and refuses to wear a mask. Electing Lake to the governor’s office would be a living nightmare.
