Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs, in a public event with like-minded Democrats, Republicans, and Independents, put her name to a petition that, if it gathers enough valid signatures, will put the right to reproductive freedom on the 2024 ballot.
Commenting at the event, the Governor commented:
“This ballot measure will restore the freedom that was stripped away from women last year with the devastating Dobbs decision, and I encourage all Arizonans to add their name to support it. Arizonans of all political affiliations agree: these deeply personal healthcare decisions are best left to women and medical professionals without interference from the government or politicians. As governor, I will always defend Arizonans’ freedoms, and I will fight back against any efforts to take our rights away.”
Attempts to codify Reproductive Freedom have been successful in redder states like Kansas and Ohio where even conservative-leaning voters do not want to put government in the bedroom like the below summer campaign video shown in Ohio dramatizes.
Imagine Arizona campaign ads like this one for the measure and for the candidates that support it.
Imagine what the margin of victory will be…and the ballot assistance it will give to candidates that support reproductive freedom in purplish-blue Arizona if the measure makes it to the voters in 2024.
MAGA Republicans beware.
