Former Fox News propagandist, now MAGA/QAnon cult candidate for governor, Krazy Kari Lake, teamed up with Trump Youth (College Young Republicans) to protest Arizona State University’s mask mandate to attend in-person classes in order to save their miserable fucking lives from dying from the Delta variant of Covid-19. Of course, she was also joined by the Arizona legislature’s QAnon Queen, Kelly Townsend. “Q” was in the house!
The Trump death cult wants people to die. This is the whole point.
If the Tyrants at @ASU & @uArizona and NAU really believe our Students will just lay down and accept these Mask Mandates without a fight, I’ve got some Ocean front property right here in Arizona to sell you.
I’ll see you soon. https://t.co/zvddlMVvUJ— Kari Lake (@KariLake) August 13, 2021
The Arizona Republic reports that there is no cure for stupid: ‘We have to fight for our freedom’: Kari Lake rallies against ASU’s mask mandate:
As Arizona State University students moved into their Tempe campus dorms on Friday, gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake headlined a protest against the school’s recently announced mask mandate.
In a speech that began with her stepping on a blue surgical mask, Lake called for students to ignore the mask mandate on campus. ASU is requiring everyone to wear masks in classrooms, labs and other places where physical distancing is not possible.
“We have to fight for our freedom here,” the former TV news anchor said. “It’s going to take you guys showing up at class without a mask on, it’s going to take you walking through the campus without a mask on, and if they sneer at you, who cares? It’s worth fighting for our freedom.”
Thank you to @AZKellyT and @KariLake for coming out to to fight the illegal mask mandates at ASU!
We appreciate you both! pic.twitter.com/1v8xLHl3kz

Adam Serwer of The Atlantic explained that the “freedom” Krazy Kari is talking about is the freedom to be a raging asshole over white grievance politics, The Cruelty Is the Point:
Trump’s only true skill is the con; his only fundamental belief is that the United States is the birthright of straight, white, Christian men, and his only real, authentic pleasure is in cruelty. It is that cruelty, and the delight it brings them, that binds his most ardent supporters to him, in shared scorn for those they hate and fear: immigrants, black voters, feminists, and treasonous white men who empathize with any of those who would steal their birthright. The president’s ability to execute that cruelty through word and deed makes them euphoric. It makes them feel good, it makes them feel proud, it makes them feel happy, it makes them feel united. And as long as he makes them feel that way, they will let him get away with anything, no matter what it costs them.
The MAGA/QAnon Trump death cult delights in pleasure from the cruelty of causing others pain, the pain of watching a loved one die alone from Covid-19 while on a ventilator. And now their cruelest act of all, cruelty to innocent young children under the age of 12 subjecting them to illness, “long Covid,” and yes death, simply because these ignorant narcissistic bastards will not put on a damn mask or get vaccinated to protect others.
Every child that is hospitalized and every child that dies is on their head. They own it. Hold them personally accountable for this criminal negligence.
A mix of young and old, the crowd was a diverse mix of students, parents and concerned community members who all found common ground against masks. Some passersby stopped to ask what was going on but carried on shortly after, presumably focused on the day’s move-in and the start of the semester next week.
In addition to “educate, not mandate” signs handed out by the organizers, posters criticizing the media and President Joe Biden were also sprinkled throughout the crowd.
Former Fox News propagandist Krazy Kari Lake parrots the talking points of her “Dear Leader,” who called the mainstream media “the enemies of the state.” Krazy Kari has a jones on for attacking Arizona’s most respected journalist, Brahm Resnik. Check out this insane rant meant for the MAGA/QAnon cultists.
Truly Disgusting.

“I don’t care if they give you ticket after ticket, if they arrest you,” Lake said to cheers. “On day one when I’m governor, I will pardon every patriot who stood up against this tyranny.”
Not gonna happen. Krazy Kari Lake is never going to be governor. You are no “patriot,” and the only “tyranny” is a tyranny of the minority of MAGA/QAnon cult members who feel entitled to subject the majority to illness and perhaps death, because of your narcissistic pleasure in cruelty.
With a little over 100 people on the lawn in front of Hayden Library, Maricopa County Young Republicans hosted the rally that lasted just over half an hour and also featured a speech from the QAnon Queen, state Sen. Kelly Townsend.
Townsend began her speech at the rally by outlining human rights atrocities in other countries, including slave labor, honor killings and religious persecution. Mask and vaccine mandates, she said, were unconstitutional and put other constitutional protections at risk.
Townsend is a complete moron and an embarrassment to this state. Public health mandates have been common in the United States, and the U.S. Supreme Court declared them constitutional in 1905. What the Supreme Court Has Said About Mandating Vaccines for School: Jacobson v. Massachusetts.
What is new today is this faux libertarianism as a foundation for the Trump death cult.
David Colborne, who writes for the Libertarian Party of Nevada blog, and ran for office twice as a Libertarian candidate, and serves on the Executive Committee for both his state and county Libertarian Party chapters, explained last year: Put a mask on, you insufferable snowflake (excerpt):
Since we live in a nation of spoiled solipsistic brats who find even being in the same room as the most simple and basic personal hygiene measures to be unreasonable infringements of their freedom to… not look at people being responsible, I guess?, it should come as no surprise that positive cases throughout the country are creeping back up. That cases are creeping up isn’t a total catastrophe, though it’s certainly not what we’d like to see. The point of the economic shutdown was to buy us time — time for a vaccine, for more effective treatments, for improved hospital capacity.
[I]ndividual choices by selfish brats are making this pandemic worse than it needs to be. Individual choices by the rest of us to stand up and hold these people accountable will provide the discipline they apparently never received earlier in life. Let’s put these princelings back in their place.
I agree.
Townsend criticized ASU’s mandate almost immediately after it was announced.
“The message ASU and some school districts are sending to their students is that they can ignore the law if they disagree with it,” she said.
That anti-mask provision in the state budget passed by MAGA/QAnon cult members in the legislature was in defiance of the federal government and sound science, the CDC Covid-19 guidance. Education Secretary Cardona criticizes Republican governors for banning mask mandates: ‘Our kids have suffered enough’:
Education Secretary Miguel Cardona criticized two Republican governors [Ron “DeathSantis” and Greg Abbott] Thursday for banning mask mandates in their states, arguing that their actions are preventing children from safely returning to school.
[Gov. “Do Nothing” Doug Ducey is “Mr. Irrelevant” in national politics. He never even gets a mention.]
“You know, don’t be the reason why schools are interrupted,” Cardona told reporters in the White House briefing room when asked about his message to DeSantis and Abbott. “Our kids have suffered enough. Let’s do what we know works. Let’s do what we know works across the country. Politics doesn’t have a role in this. Educators know what to do.”
Counterprotesters from the United Campus Workers Arizona peacefully circled the crowd and stood off to the side holding signs supporting the mandate.
“We wanted to be out there to represent the pro-science, pro-public health majority at ASU who applaud the new masks in classrooms policy and are advocating for required vaccines,” said Alex Young, an ASU lecturer and United Campus Workers member.
Beyond this protest, the group is “arguing for scientifically informed public health policy that prioritizes the health and safety of ASU workers, students and the broader university community,” he said.
When introducing the speakers, Austin Smith, Arizona Young Republicans chairman, told the crowd he thought the event would mark a seismic shift across the state, with protests being planned at other colleges requiring masks.
“Here in Arizona, I know NAU and U of A are next, and we’re going to be a part of it,” he said after the event. “And even the Maricopa County Community Colleges, we want to be a part of that and ensuring people will have the opportunity not to wear their masks and expressing their right not to do so.”
There is no such “right.” Do you also refuse to wear a mask in doctor offices and medical facilities that require you to wear a mask? Doubtful. Don’t let this fool graduate. ASU will lose its accreditation.
After ASU announced their new policies on Wednesday, Northern Arizona University and University of Arizona followed suit by instituting their own mask mandates. Maricopa County Community Colleges joined the next day, implementing mask mandates across all 10 of its campuses.
But wait! It gets worse.
The Arizona Republic reports, Anti-vaccine protesters gather near Phoenix Children’s Hospital:
A few hundred people gathered outside Phoenix Children’s Hospital on Friday evening to protest mask and vaccine mandates in schools and businesses.
Many carried anti-vaccine signs with messages like “My body my choice” and “Stand for body sovereignty” as cars passed with some honking in support.
Are you fucking kidding me? These are the very same people who deem it their right to control other women’s reproductive heath choices for contraception and abortion. You do not get to appropriate the language of the Pro Choice movement for your ignorant anti-mask, anti-vax Trump death cult.
A shirtless man wearing a red “Make America Great Again” hat and pants with the American Flag on it paced alongside the crowd playing “We’re Not Going to Take It” by the band Twisted Sister on a saxophone.
Hospital security was stationed outside the main building and restricted protesters to demonstrating on the public sidewalk so patients and hospital staff could enter and exit the hospital undisturbed.
The protest occurred as the state reported 3,225 new COVID-19 cases and 23 new known deaths — the highest daily addition of new cases since early February.
Ana Santander of Phoenix said she was there to protest vaccine mandates instituted by schools and businesses, arguing it’s her right to decide what kind of medical treatment she receives.
“I don’t think it’s right for them to ask you to get vaccinated,” Santander said.
If you become infected because you refused to wear a mask or get vaccinated, and you become a transmitter of the Delta variant of Covid-19, you are denying the rights of others not to be infected against their will, because the Delta variant can cause breakthrough cases for those who are vaccinated and who have taken every precaution for their health and safety, and the health and safety of others. You selfish, narcissistic asshole.
Santander said she plans on going to nursing school in January – oh, hell no! You are too goddamn ignorant to be a nurse. Admission denied ! – but worries she’s going to need to be vaccinated to attend and fears she might seek a different profession if the school requires her to show proof of vaccination.
Santander said she has heard from friends who work at Phoenix Children’s Hospital who say it’s now requiring employees to get vaccinated.
A Phoenix Children’s Hospital spokesperson confirmed to The Arizona Republic on Friday evening that employees are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by Oct. 1.
Because they are working with children who have no “freedom” of choice. Adults make every decision for them.
Anni Gray of Tempe said she doesn’t trust any of the COVID-19 vaccines or vaccination in general.
“I don’t trust it,” Gray said. “And I don’t do any vaccines. I don’t do flu shots, tetanus shots, shingle shots — any of them.”
I’ll bet you that she got these vaccinations. Arizona Guide to Immunizations Required For Entry Grades K-12.
Gray said she traveled around multiple states when the pandemic was in full swing and remained healthy and reasoned that she would remain that way.
(She could have been an asymptomatic transmitter of the disease, spreading Covid wherever she went.)
Like I said, there is no cure for stupid.
Medical experts and data show the vaccines approved by the Food and Drug Administration are completely safe with most people experiencing mild symptoms, if any.
Get your vaccination and put on your damn mask!

A majority of voters support mandatory coronavirus vaccines and indoor mask-wearing requirements, according to a new Morning Consult/POLITICO poll that shows opposition to the requirements is chiefly limited to MAGA/QAnon cult Republicans. “Poll: Majorities support vaccine, mask mandates — but not Republicans”, https://www.politico.com/news/2021/08/11/majorities-support-vaccine-mask-mandates-republicans-503506
The survey also found that about half of all voters blame the new wave of infections that have sent numbers spiking equally on the unvaccinated and on political leaders opposed to mask-wearing and social-distancing mandates.
According to the poll, more than 8 in 10 Democrats and at least half of independent voters want to require vaccinations for all Americans (except those with medical conditions), for employees who work in their area and for those who go to gyms or entertainment venues. But those requirements are supported by roughly 35 percent of Republicans, who form the largest group of unvaccinated Americans.
When it comes to mask mandates, Republican support inches up a few percentage points, but a majority is still opposed while nearly all Democrats and a majority independents are in favor.
[T]hroughout the pandemic, many Republican leaders have been more resistant to social distancing and masking requirements and haven’t been as aggressive as Biden in promoting the benefits of vaccines to stop or slow the spread of Covid.
Voters have taken notice and give Biden some of his highest marks in managing the pandemic, with 58 percent rating him excellent or good when it comes to handling the pandemic, the poll shows. Biden’s overall job-approval rating is 51 percent. More voters, 45 percent, trust Democrats in Congress when it comes to handling the coronavirus than Republicans (33 percent).
