“Let Them Dance:” Marie Trump Proceeds with Ballroom Construction While Soldiers Go Without Pay and People Starve

From Spencer Hakemian

A common quote misattributed to Marie Antoinette in Pre Revolutionary France was “Let them eat cake.”

Today, on the first day of a government shutdown instigated by Republicans refusing to restore subsidies for people enrolled in the Affordable Care Marketplace, the White House acknowledged that the construction of the new White House Ballroom, funded by private funds from return to the Gilded Age Plutocratic donors who seek to ingratiate themselves with the American Duce Wannabe, will proceed while soldiers work with no pay, people still face increased health care premiums and assistance cuts, children starve, and Trumps Budget Director, Project 2025 White Christian Nationalist Russell Vought is using the shutdown as an excuse to fire federal workers associated with departments that favor Democratic leaning voters and shut down congressionally approved grants and projects designated for blue states.

Honestly though, Vought, with a United States Supreme Court giving Trump mostly carte blanche on his firings and funding cuts, does not need an excuse to fire federal workers and withhold funds.

He is going to do it anyway.

Maybe one day, Marie Trump, when allowing people across the country to suffer, will be credited with saying “Let them dance.”

  1. During WWII there were fundraising drives aimed at and supported by the population to help fund the war effort. When Marie is gone & there’s a Democrat in office it might not be a bad idea to raise funds using those same methods to tear down that ballroom along with the cemented over the Rose Garden and dump all the debris at Mar a Lago for Marie’s enjoyment.
