Looky Here! We Have A Proxy War Between The Florida Man And The Ice Cream Man!

The Florida Man – leader of the first coup d’etat in American history – endorsed a slate of Big Lie election deniers here in Arizona, including a professional propagandists, former Fox News anchor “Krazy Kari” Lake.

Our “Wimpy Kid” governor, Doug Ducey, the ice cream man hired by Koch Industries to run their Southwest subsidiary formerly known as the state of Arizona, has endorsed the wild-eyed anti-immigrant Jan Brewer clone, Karrin Taylor Robson. (Does she spell her name funky trying to avoid the “Karen” meme that so obviously applies to her?)

Robson is “the woman with the furious eyes [who] needs a sturdy pair of jackboots” in Mike Murphy’s tweet.

Brahm Resnik reports, Gov. Doug Ducey endorses Karrin Taylor Robson for AZ governor:

Governor Doug Ducey has endorsed Karrin Taylor Robson as she runs to become the next governor of Arizona.

Robson is in a tight Republican race with former FOX10 news anchor “Krazy Kari” Lake.

On Thursday, Ducey announced his endorsement for Robson calling her someone “conservatives can trust.”

“I’ve looked at each of the candidates for Governor this year, and there’s no question who is the proven conservative ready to lead on Day One: Karrin Taylor Robson. I’m proud to offer Karrin my complete endorsement,” Governor Ducey said. “She’s a native Arizonan and lifelong Republican who got her start working for President Reagan. Conservatives can trust Karrin. She raised a family here, and started a small business that has helped create thousands of Arizona jobs. Karrin is the real deal: pro-Life, pro-gun, and pro-wall – and she’ll stand up to Joe Biden and the radical Left.”

Dude, that lazy-ass talking point doesn’t work. Americans know that that the only “radicals” are Republicans, half of whom supported the armed insurrection against the United States on January 6, 2021 – and who are prepared to do it again. Radical Republicans who would force a 10 year-old rape victim to carry a preganancy to term and raise her rapist’s baby (Radical Republicans would also deny this ten year old government financial assistance for prenatal care, child care, nutrition assistance, education, and child welfare). Radical Republicans who will do nothing to stop the carnage of America’s epidemic of gun violence (because guns are what GQP insurrectionists need to overthrow the United States government). And that 10 year old or her rapist’s baby will someday be a victim of an unhinged young white male who listens to Tucker Carlson and who shoots up a school so he can join the ranks of mass shooters in America. THIS is what our “Wimpy Kid” governor would bestow on Arizonans’ future.

Oh, and the wild-eyed anti-immigrant Jan Brewer clone is likely to start a border war with Mexico.

Following the announcement, Robson thanked Ducey for his support.

“I’m humbled to receive Governor Ducey’s endorsement to succeed him as the next Governor of our great state of Arizona,” Taylor Robson said. “Governor Ducey has been a strong conservative leader who has trimmed government, gotten our fiscal house in order and turned Arizona into a beacon of economic opportunity. As Governor, I intend to build on that legacy. I will secure the border, safeguard Arizona neighborhoods and never stop fighting for Arizonans and their families.”

Robson, a political newcomer, has used her family’s vast wealth to blanket the airwaves – with some of the most offensive ads of the campaign season.

With Ducey on board, all of the state’s living former Republican governors have backed Robson. Jan Brewer and Fife Symington endorsed her last year. Former U.S. Rep. Matt Salmon dropped his own campaign for governor last week and is now supporting Robson.

Ducey is co-chairman of the Republican Governors Association, which has already reserved $10 million worth of television ad time starting next month. The organization does not endorse in open primaries like Arizona’s, but Ducey has always reserved the right to make his views known about his home state.

Note: THE RGA is not his personal piggy bank to do with as he pleases. There are other governor races in the country, and they all want money.

“I’m going to care very much about who my successor is,” Ducey told reporters at an RGA convention in Phoenix last year.

Ducey, who is term-limited, has personal experience in what can happen when a governor delays announcing an endorsement for a successor. In 2014, when Ducey was locked in a tight six-way GOP primary and neck and neck with former Mesa Mayor Scott Smith, Ducey benefited from then-Gov. Brewer’s dithering. By the time Brewer endorsed Smith just 19 days before the primary election and a week after ballots were mailed, Ducey had nailed down his party win.

Trump on Wednesday reiterated his support for Lake and took a dig at Ducey, with whom he’s feuded since the outgoing governor refused to support Trump’s effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election results.

With Lake, Trump wrote in a statement, Arizonans “have a chance to get a truly great Governor, unlike the one you have right now.”

Poliico reports, Arizona standoff: Ducey vs. Trump in proxy race for next governor:

Arizona Republican Gov. Doug Ducey — whose relationship with Donald Trump ruptured over his refusal to overturn the state’s 2020 election outcome — is now going against the former president’s pick in the race to succeed him as governor.

Ducey announced his support for Karrin Taylor Robson, a member of the Arizona Board of Regents who is running against Kari Lake, a Trump-endorsed former local TV news anchor, in the Aug. 2 primary. It’s the latest chapter in an ongoing drama between Trump and Ducey, who was famously videotaped putting Trump to voicemail while signing papers certifying Joe Biden as the winner of Arizona’s presidential vote.

Trump has since turned Ducey into one of his favorite targets, calling him a “RINO” — Republican in Name Only — and “one of the worst Governors in America.” [Well, he is right about that.] In endorsing Lake last September, Trump said she would “do a far better job than” Ducey. Lake has followed Trump’s lead, attacking the governor for, among other things, his border policies, while relentlessly trumpeting the former president’s ongoing Big Lie that the election was stolen.

Ducey, who is termed out of office, has shrugged off Trump’s attacks, saying last year that he “would hold up my conservative record in Arizona against any other state.” The 58-year-old governor has stood by his decision to certify the election, remarking that he was “loyal to the Constitution and the law.”

The governor has filmed an advertisement expressing his support for Robson that was released Thursday, and is expected to take additional steps to bolster the candidate in the run-up to the primary, according to a person familiar with his plans.

Lake has run a slashing, pro-Trump campaign, this week releasing a new ad in which she declares that as governor she would “finish President Trump’s wall.” During a televised debate last week, Lake asked her rival candidates whether they agreed with her that the election “corrupt” and “stolen”; her campaign later said it was “sickening” that Robson refused to say so.

Robson, however, has been a major Trump backer, too: Her campaign has noted that she raised more than $1 million for Trump’s campaigns. Her husband, Ed Robson, was also a six-figure donor to Trump.

Ducey also collided with Trump in the Georgia governor’s race when he got behind incumbent Brian Kemp, whom the former president has also relentlessly attacked for refusing to overturn the 2020 election results. Kemp easily won the primary over former Sen. David Perdue, who had Trump’s endorsement.

Ducey was recruited by senior Republicans, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, to run for Senate this year but decided against it. Trump made clear he would oppose a Ducey Senate bid, saying at one point that “MAGA will never accept RINO Governor Doug Ducey of Arizona running for the U.S. Senate.”

Our “Wimpy Kid” Governor has delusional dreams of running for presidnet in 2024. He will be eaten alive by the MAGA/QAnon cult fascists.

  1. It’s interesting to me how little is talked about Karin Taylor Robson’s marriage to Ed Robson. As far as I can tell, there is no mention of this on her campaign website. Karin is 55 years old, Ed is 91. Ed is the founder of Robson Communities and involved with Arizona Strategies, which Karin claims she founded.
I watched months of Karin’s ads and thought she was a single mom with several kids in the background.
Also interesting that there is no wikipedia entry for Ed Robson.

  2. Wow, that’s a lot GQP twisted rhetoric ,,,,, but I guess that is to be expected. To answer your first question: Does she spell her name funky trying to avoid the “Karen” meme that so obviously applies to her? The answer is Yes, besides she fits the bill to a “T”.

That video needs to be seen by whole state. It looks and sounds like a counselor meeting at camp Stupid. The only thing missing is the clown suits. These people cannot even access a mode of discourse that sounds reasonably intelligent, and THEY are running for Governor of Arizona, the great KOCH subsidiary of the great southwest? This is what happens when the education they got did not require them to be critical thinkers.

If one of those clowns’ wins is there any chance that “Lower Arizona” can secede? Before they rob us blind even more.
