Mark Finchem, GOP AZSecState Candidate, Amplifies Vigilante Threats by Shadowy ‘BEN SENT US’

Several Arizona Democratic Party officials have been targeted by a secretive vigilante group identifying themselves as BEN SENT US with this threatening flier:

The very clear threats in the fliers have been communicated to both Arizona law enforcement and to the FBI, according to my sources, but the Democratic Party is currently eschewing any offical comment, as they don’t wish media coverage to spread the possible suppressive effect of these threats against voters, especially since Arizona has made national news for the armed and masked vigilantes stalking our polling drop boxes and intimidating and accusing voters of being “mules” (a reference to the discredited and baseless propaganda film, ‘2000 Mules’, the producers of which have been referred for investigation for fraud by Republican AZ Attorney General Mark Brnovich).

An interesting development is that Mark Finchem has recently posted on Facebook a very similar message “My message to Pima County: #JustFollowTheLaw. We will be watching.”

It could, of course, be a mere coincidence, but Finchem has repeatedly posted on his FB page very similar themes urging people to watch drop boxes, and incidentally – but certainly troubling – a LOT of anti-semitic attacks on his opponent as being backed by “globalist billionaires” like George Soros, Michael Bloomberg and Tom Steyer, whose only commonality is support for liberal democracy and their Jewish heritage.

Of course, Finchem has also indicated that part of his platform is his desire to eliminate all early and no excuse mail-in balloting, by which almost 90% of Arizona voters have freely chosen to cast their votes.

BEN SENT US:

If you follow the QR code on the flier, it directs you to https://ben-sent-us.com/.

The website self-identifies the group thusly:

“We are a collective of reformed Constitutional Sentinels instructed by God to keep a watchful eye over the tyrants that wish to strip the American People, We The People, of our God given rights. We are doctors, lawyers, soldiers, clergy, students and tradesmen. We come from all walks of life, races, political affiliations, and genders. We are MANY. We are not sheep, but rather the sheepdogs. We have an ideal and causes in common. Ridding our nation and our government of its enemies, foreign and domestic, internal and external. We bring the disinfectant of light to the darkness to expose the evil ones. We will assist in guiding our people back to being a rightly virtuous people. We use all forms of intelligence and means at our disposal from the spoken word, written word, electronic, observation, and legal to accomplish our goals.”

I guess we should, for the sake of completeness, add to their list of ‘means’ threats and intimidation of voters and party officials.

Looking at the domain registry for this site, it is clear that the backers wish to remain as anonymous as possible, so they clearly don’t invite scrutiny or accountability.

The domain registration date indicates that the domain was registered at the end of August of this year.

The contact information also clearly reflects a desire for anonymity:

Their e-contact information is firewalled behind Whois; the address is the location of an old shore-defense fort (Ft. Montagu) on the island of Nassau in the Bahamas, and; the phone number is a disconnected number (humorously, I suppose, in Nassau County, New York).

Here’s a picture of the alleged mailing address:

According to Wikipedia: “The fort played an important role during the American War of Independence, as it was the United States Marine Corps’ first successful Amphibious assault by Esek Hopkins during the Battle of Nassau.” I suppose that history might be a very subrosa allusion to their conceit of being “reformed Constitutional Sentinels instructed by God to keep a watchful eye over the tyrants…”

What all this makes quite clear is that voters and party officials are being threatened and menaced not just by a shadowy cabal of religious zealots (really, just scoundrels and thugs claiming a religious and historical authorization for their criminal acts) but also by a GOP candidate for AZ Secretary of State who is making the very similar threats and calling his followers to intimidate polling drop box voters, all while making wild and unfounded allegations of widespread voter fraud against his opponents (including the Maricopa County Recorder, Stephen Richer (who is himself a Republican, but who refutes comprehensively Finchem’s wild accusations and conspiracy delusions), and the Republican members of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors who also refuse to buy into Fincem’s grift).

Just imagine the havoc and shame a man like Finchem would bring to AZ as our top election official and the next in line to the Governorship (once #KKKari Lake inevitably flits off a Bigger Better Deal as Trump’s VP or a multi-million contract as a TV personality, like her prototype Sarah Palin). The damage to our State’s reputation and the civil rights of our citizens would be immense and might never recover.

This kind of aberrant and vigilante behavior should not be tolerated in America. This behavior should be investigated by law enforcement for criminal acts, and punished by voters who want an open, free and fair democracy, not a politics that condones and rewards threats, plots, lies, delusions, disinformation, and delusion like we are seeing now from far too many Republican candidates and operatives who are following the repulsive example of the disgraced, twice-impeached, and soon-to-be criminally changed and convicted Donald Trump.

  1. I understand that these delusional folks may be dangerous, but I’ve been cracking up all day thinking about who they picked as their “icon”.

Benjamin Franklin was all the things these people say they hate.

    Ben was a scientist.
    Ben was a journalist.
    Ben was a college president.
    Ben was a Freemason.
Ben had at least one illegitimate (I loathe that word) child.
Ben was in secret societies, some that may or may not have had Benny Hill style sexy parties.
    Ben was a vegetarian.
Ben was pro inoculation (old timey vaccine).
Ben worked at the Post Office.
    Ben became anti-slavery.
Ben was very fond of French women and published a newspaper with a sex advice column.

Warts and all, I’m a fan, Jefferson too, warts and all, men of their times.

But come on Ben Men, Franklin was everything you guys say you despise. He was the actual “elite” you guys whine about. LOL.

I’d bet a dollar if he was alive today he’d be a Dem.

  2. The ADP not bringing attention to this is the right choice, IMO. While the group may be cowards (“may”? There’s an understatement for ya), even cowards can be dangerous.

  3. I was going to post a comment about how these people clearly have not read the US Constitution.

Because the US Constitution provides a clear framework for overthrowing the government.

You show people that your ideas are best for America and ask them to vote for you.

You don’t threaten people and use terrorist tactics.

But then I saw the Chuck Norris pic.

Everyone knows that behind Chuck Norris’s beard is a another fist!

These Ben Men mean business and are not at all a handful of weirdos in Sun City with a 56k modem on their 1993 Dell OptiPlex.

Odd that they use Chuck Norris and worship T4ump and yet hate drag queens, because both those dudes use more hair dye and make up than Trixie Mattel.
