Mark Finchem is so afraid that more and more voters will find out the truth about him that his lawyers have sent a letter to the Fontes for Secretary of State Campaign to demand that they stop telling it, especially about his part in organizing the events of January 6, 2021.

Apparently, Mr. Finchem forgot about this social media post made before January 6, 2021.

From Twitter

Poor Mark also seems to have also forgotten getting himself filmed and photographed walking by the Capitol Steps while his Domestic Terrorist Buddies were in the process of storming Congress.

Looks pretty involved to me.

Even if Mr. Finchem did not actually enter the Capitol as he claims does not mean he does not bear some responsibility for organizing the events leading up to and during it as well as shaping the minds and rabid temperaments of those who came.

The Republican Secretary of State Nominee, as numerous articles and current events demonstrate, is still peddling the election denialism nonsense about 2020. He even still thinks, as this video from last weekend attests, that the Arizona Legislature can still vote to decertify the 2020 Presidential Election results.

Reacting to the letter from the Finchem Campaign’s attorneys, Fontes Campaign spokesperson Matt Grodsky wrote:

“If Finchem’s self-described kerfuffle of January 6th isn’t a big deal, why is he so worried about his association with it? The truth is Finchem is damaged by his involvement in the violent Capitol attack and can’t afford to spend on TV ads justifying his actions. We advise placing his letter in the trash, which is exactly where his campaign will be after November 8th.”

Grodsky is right. If Finchem is so worried about his association with the Domestic Terrorist attack at the Nation’s Capitol on January 6, 2021, then maybe he should not have helped fuel the anger with the lies that caused it and he should stop continuing to do that now.

Arizona needs a Secretary of State that will be honest about election results and not deny the outcomes if it does not suit them.

Mark Finchem is not that man.

Adrian Fontes is.
