For the past several days, the media villagers and Beltway bloviators have all been speculating that FAUX News commentator Mike Huckabee was going to announce that he is running for president on his show on Saturday night.
Speculation reached a fever pitch on Saturday as the Huck-ster sent cryptic e-mails to the usual suspects in the "lamestream media" toying with them.
Well, tonight was the funniest five minutes of television I have seen in some time. FAUX News did a breathless "BREAKING NEWS ALERT!" to announce that the Huck-ster is NOT, I repeat NOT running for president! The Huck-ster then gave a brief explanation why he will NOT be a candidate.
Note to FAUX News: something that does NOT happen is not news. Faux News "BREAKING NEWS ALERT!" – more than 311 million Americans are NOT running for president!
The media villagers and Beltway bloviators all got pwned! Dumber than a box of rocks.
Mike Huckabee has always reminded me of the original huckster, Mr. Haney from the classic TV sitcom Green Acres. He is in business and he will sell you everything and anything as long as his name is attached to the business.
Here is Pat Buttram as Mr. Haney in an episode of Green Acres. Tell me Mr. Haney doesn't make you think of Mike Huckabee.
The one media villager who was not fooled by the Huck-ster was Lawrence O'Donnell of MSNBC who flatly predicted that the Huck-ster would not be a candidate.
So if he is not running for president, what is this Huck-ster selling? Animated conservative revisionist history videos to indoctrinate your children with historical fiction. Mike Huckabee will teach your children history – Salon.com:
Mike Huckabee presents "Learn Our History," an edutaining look at the American story from World War II to Ronald Reagan. In fact, it consists solely of World War II and Ronald Reagan. (There is more coming, though! Up next is 9/11.) I know this will be nearly impossible to believe, especially when the mugger in the "DISCO" shirt shows up less than 30 seconds in, but this does not appear to be a joke:
Haha what? What is this? Explain, Huckabee:
Sure, kids learn about history in school, but between their "boring" textbooks and lectures, kids today are simply not excited by the incredible stories and lessons of our past. What's worse, some teachers and education boards are using history and social studies classes as their soap box to promote their own political opinions and biases! [Like I am doing.] And to me, that's simply unacceptable. [Because I haven't been making money off of it – until now.]
The videos are about some teenagers who travel through time, learning about American Exceptionalism. So it's sort of like the popular U.K. series "Doctor Who" except it's cheaply produced political propaganda. (Instead of cheaply produced science fiction.)
If you order "The Reagan Revolution" now, for just $9.95, you'll also receive "The History Explorer Shoulder Sack" (a $15 value!) and "The History Explorer Quick Focus Binoculars" (a $26 value!) — free! (Also, if you order now, you will automatically be signed up to purchase all future videos in the series, "for just $11.95 plus $3.95 s/h automatically billed conveniently to your credit card.")
Yep, the Huck-ster is the new Mr. Haney.

If this is a pro-Reagan video, why do they make him look like a monster? This is the funniest thing I have seen all week. Thanks for posting.
When so much of “the news” is speculation I don’t fault those guys for filling time with Huckabee.
As for his history material at least if you don’t buy it then taxpayers don’t have to pay for it. That can’t be said for government education materials that everybody has to pay for it whether it is accurate or not.
