We want 5,000 people — so invite your friends! The biggest running block party in Tucson is open to runners, walkers, joggers, strollers, children, parents, grand-parents, firewalkers, and everyone who wants to celebrate Tucson and fitness.

Sponsored by Tucson Medical Center and part of the Southern Arizona RoadrunnersThe Running Shop Grand Prix, this is the Road Runners Club of America National 5k Championship. See www.azroadrunners.org for event details!

Costs are now $30 to register for the 5K Walk/Run or a Team (5 people per team) for that walk/run.  There is also a one mile walk/run free for kids under 12, but adults pay $10.  Extensive details on this walk/run here:

  1. Seemed like there were 5,000 people downtown tonight at this 5K Run/Walk. Watched the first runner come in about 10 minutes after the start, then spent some time with a former student of my husband’s who ran this race as well. She did the cross country run last summer to race $ to fight cancer. What a great event, my first time to witness this huge fitness event. Congrats Randy Acetta on another great race.

  2. Over 3,000 people signed up for this cool evening event in the hot summer of Tucson. Check it out starting at the Children’s Museum Tucson/Armory Park area on 6th Avenue.
