Apropos of nothing, save praising a worthy local business here in Tucson, I bring you the Southern Gravity from 47 Scott's cocktail bar Scott & Co. Our own local speakeasy has been named one of the 10 best new bars in America by Food and Drink magazine.
The cocktail is in the old fashioned style with a hefty dose of Buffalo Trace Bourbon, house infused with apples, cinnamon syrup, Old Fashioned bitters and an intriguing tobacco tincture and rinse of smoky scotch in the glass.
Best of all, no fucking fruit!
The result is a heady, slightly sweet and spicy, leathery bourbon ambrosia. A worthy cap to a hard day at work. Scott & Co. only caters to the after work crowd, opening at 6pm and closing… Well, when it closes.
