Noted without comment

"We have been very, very good to education," Sen. Russell Pearce R-Mesa, chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee, said earlier in the day. "There'll never be enough money for some of these folks, never, until they just strip the taxpayer of every penny they earn."

I won't comment because I shouldn't get to have all the fun on this blog. It's all yours, folks.

  1. It’s funny that our legislators still have this Cold-War bunker mentality that we’re only redistributing wealth for the sake of punishing the successful, not to improve society as a whole or to remain competitive with Chindia or anything wacky like that.

I’ve been to Sweden, Japan, the Netherlands and other uber-socialist countries. The people are hardly living in a state of Soviet misery.

  2. The Dos Centavos blog has a piece by Carlos Guerra (San Antonio Express News) on funding for education in Texas. In this economy other states are facing similar issues because education seems like an easy target to some, I guess. This is where our leaders must show vision! Am very proud of those marching and trying to open people’s eyes. Thanks for all your updates and comments, we appreciate your efforts.
