Every October is DV Awareness month,and here’s the annual calendar posted by Tucson’s Emerge Center Against Domestic Abuse. Pay particular attention to Oct. 19 which is Wear Purple Day, and Oct. 21 when you can help Stuff the Bus (with clothes, toiletries, linens, etc.) at the Loft Cinema, and also attend the Resource Fair.

Carolyn’s note: As the former Interim Director (back in 2001 to 2002) of the now-defunct Domestic Violence Commission in Tucson , I usually wear purple on Wear Purple Day and participate in other activities for DV Awareness month. Unfortunately, domestic abuse is still prevalent in our society.
