My husband and I attended the Cine Mexico showing tonight of “Gueros” at the Temple of Music & Art, along with a full house of patrons. This film noir showcases the underbelly of Mexico City through the eyes of two Mexican college students, drifting along while their co-students march & strike at the University. Joined by a younger brother on the edge of becoming a juvenile delinquent, they seek out a mysterious musician (Epigmenio Cruz) during their boredom. By the way, a guero is a light-skinned Mexican, often picked on by others in their culture.
