Payday Paton

I saw this at the corner of 22nd Street and Craycroft Road. Sometimes a picture is worth speaks more than a 1,000 words.

UPDATE: A friend reminded me that Paton's campaign signs are conveniently placed at apartment complex properties around Tucson owned by Humberto S. Lopez (HSL Properties). This is a political favor to Paton for having shepherded through the legislature two bills of particular concern to Mr. Lopez.

The first was the law usurping local authority and giving the power of appointment to the Rio Nuevo Board to Maricopa County politicians to appoint their local cronies to the Rio Nuevo Board.

The second was "Paton's Law" usurping the right of the residents of Tucson to make their own decisions regarding the City of Tucson Charter and local elections, and imposing nonpartisan ward only city elections by an act of the legislature. The legality of "Paton's Law" is still to be determined by the courts.

If you believe in local autonomy and self-determination (home rule), and Tucson not being subjugated under the heel of Maricopa County politicians, demonstrate your displeasure in the GOP primary with your vote.
