Hopefully today marks the beginning of the end for Arizona's most corrupt politician, "King" Russell Pearce. Early voting starts today in the Pearce Recall election in LD 18. Early voting under way for elections in Phoenix, Pearce recall in Dist. 18:
Early voting begins today for Nov. 8's Legislative District 18 recall and Phoenix City Council elections.
In the recall election, Senate President Russell Pearce is running against political newcomer Jerry Lewis. Both candidates are Republicans, but the recall election is open to all voters in the west Mesa district regardless of their political party. A third candidate, Olivia Cortes, has withdrawn. Her name will remain on the ballot, but [any votes for her will not be counted].
Any registered voter in the districts can vote early by mail or in person. Mail-in ballots are being sent out today. To request a mail-in ballot, visit recorder.maricopa.gov or call 602-506-1511.
Recall-election voters can vote early at the county elections office in Mesa, 222 E. Javelina. Phoenix voters can vote early at City Hall, 200 W. Washington St., 15th Floor. Both facilities are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
