Thursday, October 2 – Sunday, October 5: Rex Allen Days, at 1500 N. Circle I Road (Willcox). The Town of Willcox celebrates the music and life of hometown hero, the actor/singing cowboy Rex Allen, with a rodeo, parade, dances, and cowboy poetry readings.

Saturday, October 4, 11:00 a.m.: Flagstaff Oktoberfest, at Wheeler Park in Downtown Flagstaff (N. Humphreys Street (Hwy. 180) from Birch Ave. to Aspen Ave. The event supports the Flagstaff Sunrise Lions Club. Live polka music, German beer, and free root beer floats for kids in the root beer garden. Contests for yodeling, costume, brat eating and beer hoisting.

Saturday, October 4, Noon: Phoenix Oktoberfest, at Margaret Hance Park (Eastside), 200 E. Moreland Street at North Central Avenue (Phoenix). Hosted by the Arizona Center for Germanic Cultures. It has a number of contests celebrating German traditions, including a Alphorn blowing contest, polka contest and beer stein holding competition. Free kids Kinder village area and German cooking demonstrations. Festivities start at noon. Keg is tapped at 1 PM. Admission is $5 but kids under 12 get in free.

Friday, October 10 – Sunday, October 12: Oktoberfest @ Tempe Town Lake, Tempe Sister City holds the 41st annual Tempe Oktoberfest as a fundraiser for its student and teacher exchange program. At the three day Oktoberfest, you will find a carnival, dachshund runs (Sunday) and a 5 Mile / 5K / 1 mile race (Saturday) in addition to German food, beer & wine gardens and live music. 15 german beers and three stages of live music! Kinderfest with craft zone and carnival amusements for kids. Six hours of polka music on Sunday. Eight 4 oz. smaples of German beer will also be served from noon – 6 for just $20. Admission is free. All day pass for kids amusements is $30. Tempe Beach Splash Park will also reopen for the weekend. Cash is needed to purchase tickets for food and beverages. Family pricing during the day on Saturday and Sunday is 25 food/activity tickets for $20.

The Honorable Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will preside over the colorful festivities as Honorary Parade Chair. Saturday, October 11, 6:00 p.m.: 37th Annual Pride in the Desert, in Tucson. TLGA/Tucson Pride, with it’s partners the North 4th Avenue Merchants Association and Sky Bar, in conjunction with the City of Tucson, proudly returns “Pride on Parade” to it’s traditional home. On Saturday, October 11th, 2014 at 6 pm we march on 4th again! The parade will stage at Catalina Park on 2d Street just West of 4th Avenue. The parade will travel South on 4th Avenue, ending at 8th Street. After the parade meet at 4th Avenue and 5th Street for the free Block Party which will feature local entertainers. Saturday, October 25, 5:00 p.m.: Red Rocks Oktoberfest at Los Abrigados Creekside Park, 160 Portal Lane (Sedona). Local Arizona craft brewers will bring Oktoberfest beers. German style bratwurst, potato salad, and big pretzels! Music by Big Willie and the Polka Meisters. Entry is $15 and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Rotary Club of Sedona Rocks and the STEM program at Sedona Oak Creek School District.
