Privileged White Boy Blake Masters Sneers ‘We Are Done With This Affirmative Action Regime’

The former grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan in Louisiana, David Duke, traded in his Klan robes for a suit and tie to make his way into mainstream U.S. politics. Making the Klan respectable and mainstream in the Republican Party.

In an article tracing how the political worldview of former Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke had become mainstream in Louisiana, The New York Times dug up an interesting quote about Rep. Steve Scalise (R), who  is now the House Minority Whip, when he spoke to a summit of white supremacists and neo-Nazis in Louisiana in 2002:

Stephanie Grace, a Louisiana political reporter and columnist for the past 20 years, first with The Times-Picayune in New Orleans and now The Advocate of Baton Rouge, recalled her first meeting with Mr. Scalise.

“He was explaining his politics and we were in this getting-to-know-each-other stage,” Ms. Grace said. “He told me he was like David Duke without the baggage. I think he meant he supported the same policy ideas as David Duke, but he wasn’t David Duke, that he didn’t have the same feelings about certain people as David Duke did.” [The New York Times]

Duke’s stunning victory in a Louisiana legislative special election in February 1989 wasn’t a political aberration. Instead, Duke’s win set off a larger fight that’s ongoing today as the Republican Party sees more candidates and officeholders who used to be considered the racist fringe of the political spectrum. The issues, language and techniques Duke used to score an upset over fellow Republican John Treen in a district just outside of New Orleans proved instructive. Duke’s techniques showed others with extreme or far-right views how to dress up sometimes racist and xenophobic positions to win elective office.

Today, Republicans mimic Duke’s language on immigration and diversity. Hardcore racists copy the style and image Duke started to cultivate in the 1970s. Some candidates even court Duke’s supporters and appear on his podcasts.

Duke’s lone winning campaign, the only successful one in the United States by an avowed neo-Nazi, has cast a long shadow on America’s political landscape and laid the groundwork for an attempted takeover of the Republican Party.

Which brings me to Peter Thiel’s puppet, privileged white boy and white nationalist Blake Masters, who is a legacy of the David Duke mainstreaming in the GQP. He is no better than David Duke in a suit and tie.

NBC News reports Senate GOP candidate Blake Masters suggests diversity at Federal Reserve is harming the economy:

Blake Masters, the GOP nominee for a Senate seat in Arizona, suggested in a sarcastic tweet this week that the “sluggish” economy and the high rate of inflation [coming down] were tied to diversity in the high ranks of the Federal Reserve.

“Finally a compelling explanation for why our economy is doing so well,” Master, who has been endorsed by former President Donald Trump, wrote Sunday in retweeting an Associated Press article with the headline: “Fed tackles inflation with its most diverse leadership ever.”

Another Republican who doesn’t know jack diddly-squat about economics. Blake spent all his time playing video games and getting high in college. But he’s got that David Duke racist shit down pat. Learned it from all those Ron Paul Libertarian websites he rotted his brain on.

The article noted that more female, Black and gay officials are now weighing in on interest-rate decision-making than ever before in the central bank’s more-than-100-year history.

Masters [doubed-down defending] his remarks Monday in a video on Twitter.

“I don’t care if every single employee at the Fed is a Black lesbian as long as they’re hired for their competence and not because of what they look like or who they sleep with,” Masters said. “News for Joe Biden: We are done with this affirmative action regime.”

Of affirmative action, Masters said, “I can’t think of a single policy since the end of Jim Crow that’s been worse or more divisive for race relations in this country.”

Says a wealthy privileged white boy who benefitted from white privilege and class status.  Oooh, that’s Critical Race Theory. Fucking rich white snowflakes! “Some people are born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple.” – Barry Switzer.

Masters has suffered recent setbacks and come under scrutiny for shifting positions in his effort to unseat Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly.

Last week, Masters overhauled the policy page on his campaign website, scrubbing it of language that had taken a tough stance on abortion and rewriting or erasing five of his six positions on the issue.

Meanwhile, the Senate GOP’s top super PAC, the Senate Leadership Fund, has said it is slashing $8 million in ad spending in Arizona throughout September, as it looks for clear paths to boost Republicans’ chances of taking control of the chamber this fall.

Note: This isn’t a decision to pull out on Blake Masters. It’s a message to billionaire fascist Peter Thiel, “He’s your puppet, you pay for him!”

Masters has frequently invoked race and drawn on culture wars in one of the most closely watched Senate races.

In an appearance on the podcast “The Jeff Oravits Show” in April, Masters said “Black people, frankly,” were responsible for America’s gun violence problem.

In May, he was among a group of conservative candidates who invoked versions of the “great replacement theory” — a conspiracy theory that claims there is a plot to weaken the influence of white Americans — by saying Democrats want to give amnesty to thousands of immigrants to claim them as voters.

Masters has also disparaged Black women, having previously argued that Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, the first Black woman confirmed to the high court, was “a horrible pick” and an “affirmative action candidate.”

Match Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Curriculum Vitae and life experience up against this racist adolescent punk’s Curriculum Vitae and life experience, and it is no contest. He is not worthy to carry her briefcase.

In Monday’s video, Masters also attacked Vice President Kamala Harris, who he said was “so incompetent she can’t even get a sentence out.”

“There’s such a thing as fairness. We’re going to end this unfair and incompetent affirmative action regime,” Masters added.

So Vice President Kamala Harris is an “affirmative action” hire?

Kamala Harris has been elected to office multiple times, to District Attorney of San Francisco, to California Attorney General, to United States Senator from California, and to Vice President of the United States. Millions of Americans have voted for her because they were confident in her competence and experience.

Blake Masters has never been elected to any office. The votes he received in the GQP primary were because he is a Big Lie election denier who kissed Donald Trump’s big white racist ass and got his endorsement. Arizona MAGA/QAnon cult members would have voted for a dead dog if it had “Dear Leader’s” endorsement. It was not a vote based upon “merit.”

The more this racist adolescent punk POS shoots his mouth off, the bigger the hole he keeps digging for his electoral grave.
