The Democratic Strategist has been hosting an online forum of an essay by John E. Shwarz, Professor Emeritus at the University of Arizona, well respected author Amazon.com: John E. Schwarz: Books, and a friend of Blog for Arizona.
The Democratic Strategist in collaboration with the major progressive intellectual center Demos, is featuring a special online forum on the topic: "Progressive Politics and the Meaning of American Freedom." Co-edited by TDS' Ed Kilgore and Demos Senior Fellow Lew Daly, this forum will include a variety of important progressive voices.
The first item is an introductory essay by John E. Schwarz, Distinguished Senior Fellow at Demos
The second is a set of framing comments and questions by Demos Senior Fellow and forum co-editor Lew Daly
The third is a response to the introductory essay by Center for American Progress Fellow and writer Matt Yglesias
The fourth is a response to the introductory essay by Center for American Progress Action Fund Fellows John Halpin and Ruy Teixeira (TDS Co-Founder and Editor)
The fifth is a response to the introductory essay by president of the Progressive Policy Institute, Will Marshall
The sixth is a general response to the forum by executive editor of The American Prospect, Mark Schmitt
