Putting the Needs of the Powerful Over Everyone Else, MAGA Raises Costs For Most Americans, Takes Working Rights Away, and Causes Children to Starve

In another week of MAGA-Project 2025 advancing the interests of the billionaire and fascist wings of the socio-economic spectrums, Republicans in Congress advanced measures to raise costs for everyday Americans while the Trump/Musk/Vance Central Committee issued orders that would raise automotive and gas expenses and take the workers right to bargain away from Federal Employees.

In Congress, Senate Republicans, on a party-line vote, passed a measure to repeal a Biden/Harris Consumer Financial Protection Bureau rule that capped banking overdraft fees.

According to reporting from the New York Times, this Biden/Harris era rule would save everyday Americans five billion dollars a year.

So much for MAGA’s claims that they are fighting for the workers over the greedy interests of the billionaires.

This measure now goes to the House, where the members are working on a repeal of a Biden/Harris rule that instituted cost-saving energy-efficient standards for refrigeration and freezer equipment.

So much for the commitment to bring prices down on day one for the American People.

Meanwhile, while Trump is fiddling with destroying the American Economy with his ill-advised tariffs on auto imports, a move that will…wait for it…raise prices for most Americans wishing to get a new vehicle, his MAGA-Project 2025 Fascist regime is continuing its assault on the federal workforce by issuing an Executive Order stripping away those workers constitutional rights to collectively bargain for better conditions and pay.

While all this was happening, in an act of cruelty, the Musk/Trump/Vance Central Committee stopped the delivery of needed food for Cleveland Food Banks after the order had been processed and set for delivery.

This development comes on the heels of a KJZZ-NPR report that 150,000 children in Arizona may face cuts to the free breakfasts and lunch meals in school if MAGA interests in Congress and the Arizona State Legislature get their way.

There has been near universal condemnation of the MAGA actions in Democratic circles, including Arizona’s Congressional Delegation.

Delaware Representative Sarah McBride had this posting, protesting the “absurdity” of the repeal of the energy and freezer Biden/Harris Era refrigeration and freezer energy refrigeration rules.

If you're wondering what the House of Representatives is voting on later today, it's legislation to repeal energy efficiency rules for commercial fridges and freezers that actually save small businesses and consumers money. The absurdity never ends.

Arizona Representative Yassamin Ansari issued this strong rebuke of the MAGA illegal attack on most federal workforce union rights, calling it “an assault on working rights and union busting.”

Arizona Representative Greg Stanton also commented on the Trump attack on worker rights, stating on social media:

“Trump is tearing up collective bargaining agreements for thousands of civil servants in Arizona and across the country. This is union busting; it’s illegal, and we won’t let it stand.”

On the Senate passing the repeal of the Biden/Harris Era cap on bank fees, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes posted: “The Senate just voted to allow banks to rip people off. Unbelievable.”

Senator Ruben Gallego also offered a response on the bank fees, writing on social media:

“This week, 52 Senate Republicans voted to let banks charge you more. We’re fighting to lower costs; they’re literally voting to raise them.”

Senator Mark Kelly relayed his reactions to both the bank fee increase and the attack on working rights, stating:

Does anybody want higher bank fees? NO. So why did Senate Republicans just vote to overturn the $5 cap on overdraft fees put into place last year? This will only help big banks make even more money at the expense of working families.”

Generations of Americans have sacrificed to strengthen workers’ rights, but one step at a time, Trump and Elon are trying to tear that down and take power away from hard-working Americans. Unions help working families get ahead. We should be building them up, not tearing them down.”
