Why Does Ben Quayle Refuse to Debate?

Still Silent 12 Days After Arizona Republic and NBC-12 Offer To Broadcast Debate

PHOENIX (Sept. 7, 2010) – Twelve days have passed since Jon Hulburd proposed a series of five debates in Arizona’s Third Congressional District and Ben Quayle is still hiding. 

The Arizona Republic and KPNX (NBC-12) have offered to sponsor and broadcast one of the debates but Quayle doesn’t seem interested in talking with voters. The Hulburd campaign hand-delivered a debate invitation to the Quayle headquarters on Aug. 26. We didn’t think we’d have to show the evidence that Quayle received our invitation but since he won’t respond here’s video proof that he did in fact receive our challenge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LuqRh-jZAo  

“Voters deserve to hear straight answers from a candidate asking for their support,” said Josh Abner, communications director for Hulburd for Congress. “Ben Quayle wants to be our Congressman but he won’t answer questions. He wants to use his out-of-state Wall Street money to jam TV ads down our district’s throat rather than talking with Arizonans.” 

District Three deserves a representative who will stand up for his views and answer the tough questions. When will Ben Quayle come out of hiding?
