Saturday, April 28, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.: The national "Unite Against the War on Women" March, sponsored by UniteWomen.org at the AZ State Capitol Building – House Lawn, 1700 W. Washington. Help defend women's rights and pursuit of equality. Join Americans all across the United States on April 28th, 2012, as we come together as one to tell members of Congress in Washington DC and legislators in all 50 states, "Enough is enough!" The Capitol Buildings will be closed. We are providing porta-pottys. We are providing bottled water. There are trees providing shade on the House Lawn, but please plan for a late-morning to mid-afternoon, April Arizona day — don't forget your sunscreen!

The price of a bus ride to Phoenix from Tucson is $10 round-trip. It is a luxury coach with a/c, lavatory and three point restraint seat belts. Plenty of storage underneath for our protest signs! Departs Furr's Fine Dining at 1095 W. St. Mary's Ave in Tucson at 7:00 AM and returns around 4:30-5:00 PM. Seating is limited – sign up quickly! You do not need to ride the bus to participate in the event.

Arizona – Unite Against the War on Women
April 28th Rally – AZ State Capitol Building 10am – 2pm
Phoenix is one of hundreds of cities from across the country set to march and rally on Saturday, April 28th to protest the War on Women. Here in Arizona, anti-abortion legislation and bills impinging on women’s healthcare have sparked outrage by concerned citizens. This Saturday, we will gather loud and strong to speak out against the right-wing extremism that threatens the freedom of every woman!
“I am expecting 500+ women and men to attend our rally at the State Capitol Building on Saturday” said Karen Bravo, Director of AZ Unite Women.
Saturday’s events are a coordinated effort by Unite Women, a new, national grassroots organization formed to push back against anti-women legislation, policies and rhetoric. Slated to speak are:
