Rep. Gabrielle Giffords to be honored with the Tikkun Olam Award at The Tucson Hebrew Academy

CONGRESSWOMAN GABRIELLE GIFFORDS TO BE HONORED WITH THE TIKKUN OLAM AWARD AT THE TUCSON HEBREW ACADEMY

(TUCSON, AZ) – The Tucson Hebrew Academy is proud to announce that it will be honoring Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords with its prestigious Tikkun Olam Award at their annual event this fall. 

The Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam – "repairing the world" – is a call for all to do their part to help to repair the world. Through public service, and by working to perfect ourselves, we each contribute in our own unique way to making the world a better place. 

“Congresswoman Giffords exemplifies this concept perfectly,” said Dick Belkin, President of the Tucson Hebrew Academy’s Board of Trustees. “She is an inspiration for people of all faiths and backgrounds, and she certainly is a role model for the students of Tucson Hebrew Academy as they learn about the concept of Tikkun Olam.”

Proceeds from Tikkun Olam benefit the Tucson Hebrew Academy. THA is Tucson’s only Jewish day school, and has been serving the Tucson Jewish Community for more than 30 years.
