Juan goes on a podcast and spreads misinformation. Just another day in CD6. Juan lies as easily as he breathes; its a job requirement for any MAGA Member of Congress in these Trumpy days.
To save you the pain of listening to said lies, we can sum up Juan’s excuses for voting against a three year extension of the ACA subsidies, which will result in tens of thousands (at least) of Arizonans being priced out of their ACA Marketplace policies and result in higher prices for everyone, thusly: he doesn’t like the ACA subsidies because they go to health insurance companies? They will allow the ACA to continue unchanged for all Americans currently enrolled? They aren’t ideologically pure enough? You aren’t poor enough? Or they don’t go directly to ACA enrollees? Something something, you can’t make me!? Anyhow…
MAGA Republicans like #CiscoMAGA support massive profits for private healthcare, and what they really don’t like is the regulatory aspects of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
Insurance companies do not like government oversights, mandates to cover pre-existing conditions, and government constraints on costs.
Healthcare is complicated under the ACA, but the MAGA Republicans have made it complicated. They fought simpler approaches such as single payer, because these other approaches limit profits for their billionaire MAGA donors that profit from expensive healthcare.
And Wussy Juan’s whining about his healthcare benefits shows just how out of touch and stupid he is. Federal healthcare for employees and members of Congress provide some of the best choices available, but you have to choose the right plan that fits your needs. Some HMOs are simpler, but have their limitations. Other plans are more complex, but are harder to navigate. And coverage varies based on plans, and employee contribution varies based on quality and features of a given plan.
Juan wants us to go back to a time when only the wealthy and fortunate can afford healthcare, and the working poor’s only healthcare option is the emergency rooms of publicly funded hospitals.
Juan and his MAGA buddies continue to push “kill the poor” policies.
