You know, at some point these Southern Arizona Republicans who do the bidding of their Republican masters from the state of Maricopa have to be viewed as an invasive species, like buffle grass, that destroys the natural habitat they invade. The only way to get rid of buffle grass is to tear it out by its roots.
The Tea-Publican trolls running for mayor and council in Tucson are bought and paid for by their Republican masters from the state of Maricopa. It's time to tear them out by their roots before they destroy Tucson.
The Pima County Democratic Party has issued this press release:
GOP candidates for Tucson City Council are now officially “Paid for” by Phoenix Republicans
Get ready, Phoenix has taken over the Republican campaigns for mayor and council.
The first Republican “slate” piece in the Tucson city elections isn’t being paid for by the local GOP, rather it’s the state Republican Party up in Phoenix footing the bill. What’s more their paid canvassers are being paid by Phoenix dirty trickster Nathan Sproul’s Lincoln Strategies, based in … Phoenix.
The two literature pieces (one saying "vote Republican" and the other with no mention of party affiliation) claim their funding comes out of Phoenix. And the paid canvas from temp firm hiring their paid canvassers lists their client as Lincoln Strategies, a Phoenix-based consulting firm accused of voter-suppression tactics.
“Phoenix is taking a very keen interest in who runs Tucson and Phoenix Republicans are the driving force behind local Republicans seeking a Tea Party takeover of Tucson,” said Jeff Rogers, Pima County Republican Party chairman. “Between the state party and Sproul, it’s nothing more than an attempted Phoenix takeover of our local election. Again.”
Phoenix Republicans have been trying to micromanage Tucson for the last few years, taking away border crime money, putting a halt to downtown redevelopment and trying to dictate how Tucson runs its elections. If their candidates get elected, Phoenix Republicans can really run Tucson.
“If you like what the Legislature has done to the state, you'll love what the Tea Party council would do to Tucson,” Rogers said. “If elected, Tucsonans can be certain the Republican candidates will know where the new council's bread is buttered — somewhere around Van Buren and Central.”
I have previously posted about the GOP's voter suppression expert, Nathan Sproul. GOP voter registration fraud: Mark Jacoby arrested, Nathan Sproul under investigation (again) (2008). Heee's baack! Nathan Sproul implicated in California voter registration fraud (2010). Maybe someday when law enforcement takes election crimes as seriously as other crimes, this evil sonuvabitch will finally be prosecuted.
