Campaign launches dedicated microsite RepublicansforCarmona.com

Today Carmona for Arizona unveiled Republicans for Carmona, a group of Republicans tired of the direction Arizona is heading in and want an independent U.S. Senator who will work with both parties to get things done.

Co-chairing Republicans for Carmona are: former Scottsdale Mayor Sam Campana, former state Senator Pete Hershberger, Vice Mayor of Tucson Steve Kozachik, Dr. Art Mollen, former Corporation Commissioner Kris Mayes, and former Tucson Mayor Bob Walkup.

Carmona has been a lifelong independent and served under a Republican administration as the 17th U.S. Surgeon General. He is a combat-decorated Special Forces veteran, trauma surgeon and Pima County Deputy Sheriff.

Steve Kozachik, Vice Mayor of Tucson
: "Dr. Carmona has it in his professional DNA to consider others' points of view. He developed that trait while wearing the uniform of Special Forces, SWAT and the Surgeon General. Those jobs force one to engage all opinions, weigh them and come to a solution based on facts not biases.”

Dr. Art Mollen, President and Founder of the Southwest Health Institute
: "Political parties have become so polarized in recent years, but Dr. Carmona is someone who can bring some civility back to politics and, simply, do the right thing. We need to elect Dr. Carmona not only for the state of Arizona, but for the good of the country.”

Kris Mayes, former Corporation Commissioner
: "Rich Carmona has a history of working with both sides for the benefit of Arizona. Rich has served our state in both the public and private sector, and knows how to work together to create jobs, attract businesses and build a stronger economy."

Pete Hershberger, former State Senator
: “As a U.S. Senator, Rich’s only commitment will be to making decisions based on reason and the best science. He’s not running to keep a party in power, he’s running to serve Arizona. This makes Rich unique and exceptional, and will bring Arizona the leadership we have needed in the U S Senate for a long time."
