This is one of the clearest statements I've seen about the real impact of SB1070. Its impact won't be to help solve the nation's problems relating to immigration.
[T]here is no solution in this law to the challenges that immigration may (or may not) pose to our nation. Rather, SB1070 is little more than a bill that takes a vulnerable population and increases its vulnerability.
Arguments will continue about the constitutionality of the bill, but this is the bottom line. Constitutional or not, the bill is an attempt to step up the harassment of a group of people, and it will do nothing to solve the underlying problems with our current federal immigration laws, nor will it improve safety or economic conditions here in Arizona.

D’oh! Comment left on wrong post! Crickey…
“It leads one to wonder whether they have a single generic STAMP model that they apply to all states so they have to try to figure out how to adjust the generic data to approximately represent Arizona.”
I find this statement the crux of the entire issue with the G.I. and B.H. Find a basic template and just make the numbers work to your advantage. No one will be the wiser. Isn’t this generic rubber stamp sort of approach to government the very thing libertarian groups rail against? Or are the finer nuances of their higher calling lost on me yet again?
