Seditious Traitor Interested In Running For Sen. Richard Shelby’s Seat

Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL), age 86, confirmed that he will retire when his term ends in 2022, the Washington Post reports.

Good call. Shelby should have retired years ago.

Here’s where things go off the rails. Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), one of the three congressional conspirators who planned the January 6 insurrection in Washington D.C., along with Arizona Reps. Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar according to Ali Alexander, a lead organizer of the event, See The Intercept, says he is interested in running for Sen. Shelby’s senate seat. Mo Brooks expresses interest in running for Shelby’s Senate seat.

Brooks said the criticisms he’s faced for his role in GOP efforts to overturn the 2020 election results on Jan. 6, a push that led to the insurrection at the Capitol that left five people dead, including a Capitol Police officer, has helped raise his profile and could help him in a primary race.

To paraphrase Nina Simone, Alabama Goddamn!

Remember, this is the seditious insurrectionist who told the MAGA rally on the January 6 shortly before they stormed the Capitol:

“Today, Republican Senators and congressman will either vote to turn America into a Godless, amoral, dictatorial, oppressed and socialist nation on the decline, or they will join us and fight against voter fraud and election theft, and vote for keeping America great,” Brooks said.

“Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass,” he said during his Wednesday morning speech.

Only after a mob left the rally and stormed the Capitol, forcing lawmakers to evacuate and postpone the electoral process, did Brooks post on Twitter that the violence was “despicable, un-American, and tears at the fabric of our great republic.”

Oh HELL no! A traitor to his country and his oath of office who engages in sedition and encourages violent insurrection against the United States government seeking to overthrow American democracy and to install Donald Trump as America’s first dictator in a banana republic does not get to move up to the Senate.

This is on par with Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederacy, announcing that he is interested in running for the Senate after losing the Civil War. (Davis was captured in 1865, accused of treason and imprisoned at Fort Monroe in Hampton, Virginia. He was never tried and was later released after two years). Davis should have been hanged for treason for the 620,000 soldiers who died in the Civil War (not to mention innumerable civilian casualties).

These three assclowns, Reps. Brooks, Biggs and Gosar,  should be arrested and prosecuted for Seditious Conspiracy – 18 U.S. Code § 2384, and be disqualifed from ever serving in public office ever again under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.

In addition to Brooks, sources familiar with the Alabama GOP political landscape speculate Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill, Shelby’s former chief of staff Katie Boyd Britt and Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Ala.) could hop in the race.

Former Rep. Bradley Byrne (R-Ala.), who was defeated in the primary for the seat now held by Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.), said he is leaning against another run but is leaving his options open.

Dude, you lost to a complete moron, Tommy Tuberville, who also was part of the seditious conspiracy. Giuliani calls wrong senator in last-ditch effort to delay certification of Biden’s win.

No word yet on any Democrats who might run for Senate in this backwater of America. Maybe Doug Jones would like to run for the Senate again. I’m sure a number of Alabamians have already come to regret their vote for Tommy Tuberville.
