RULES CHAIRWOMAN KLOBUCHAR ANNOUNCES DATE OF GEORGIA FIELD HEARING ON VOTING RIGHTS
Klobuchar to chair field hearing in Georgia as part of series of hearings on critical voting, campaign finance, and ethics reforms
It will mark the first Rules Committee field hearing in 20 years
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Chairwoman of the Committee on Rules and Administration with oversight over federal elections and campaign finance law, today announced the Rules Committee will hold a field hearing in Georgia on Monday, July 19th.
This will be the first field hearing held by the Rules Committee in twenty years. At the hearing, witnesses will testify about recently enacted legislation to restrict voting in the state and the need for basic federal standards to protect the freedom to vote. Subsequent hearings on critical voting, campaign finance, and ethics reforms will be announced at a later date.
Additional details about this hearing will be released ahead of July 19.
