So Fox News really is from a parallel universe

by David Safier
I rarely make it all the way through a Charles Krauthammer column. The newspaper always seems to get torn before I get to the end of it, or I click away because I fear for the safety of my computer screen. So I was thankful to Talking Points Memo for pointing out this gem by the K Man in today's New York Post, praising Fox News:

What Fox did is not just create a venue for alternative opinion. It created an alternate reality.

Out of the mouths of boobs.

IRONY ALERT: At the top of the Krauthammer piece is an editor's note saying it's an excerpt from remarks K made when he received an award named after Eric Breindel, who used to be editorial page editor. This is how it looks on the page (bold face added):

The following is excerpted from Charles Krauthammer's remarks upon receiving the 2009 Eric Breindel Award for Excellence in Opinion Journalism, named for The Post's late edit orial-page editor, yesterday in Washing ton.

I guess when Breindel died, they decided they didn't need an editor any more — or maybe they promoted the proofreader to editor and forgot to replace him.
