So glad that I’m not at the lege today…

Posted by Craig McDermott

I am unable to trek down to the Capitol today, and after watching the Senate Appropriations meeting online for 30 minutes, I'm glad I'm staying away.

After listening to Russell Pearce pontificate on George Soros trying to legalize heroin (Pearce is still ticked off over the Voter Protection Act being voted in because of the lege's override of the voters' choice to decriminalize marijuana in the 1990s), Jack Harper blather about Democrats wanting to tax charity, and Pearce shouting down Paula Aboud (for having the audacity to talk about the R unwavering dedication to blindly cutting taxes and then blaming "reckless" spending for the state's revenue shortfall), all in the last half hour, I'm pretty sure that I'd have pounded my head against the wall to the point of unconsciousness.

The meeting of House Approps is proceeding similarly, though Kyrsten Sinema isn't getting shouted down by Pearce's counterpart in the House, John Kavanagh.  At least not yet, anyway.

If you suffer from low blood pressure and need to have it raised, go to this page and click on "view live proceedings."
