Southern Arizona Media Telling Bee to Decide

Bumblebeeman_2
Now both the Arizona Daily Star and the Green Valley News have weighed in on Tim Bee’s kabuki dance of indeterminacy: They no likey.

Is Bee a congressional candidate or an Arizona Senator? He can’t be both. Or can he? It’s Schroedinger’s candidate! Just don’t open his bank account to see how much he’s raising for the general election and he can hover in a state of quantum legality until January.

I don’t imagine it will be long before other papers in the district begin to editorialize on Tim’s contempt for the spirit of Arizona’s constitution and the intelligence of the people he proposes to represent (or does he? nobody knows…). But so far, Tim is batting zero.

Just what is so offensive about pointing out that The Jewish Faith does NOT celebrate Christmas and December is a profitable month for businesses?

I pointed out the fact Giffords raised more money in December that is an OFF MONTH according to my Political Consultants in Washington D.C. and it was pointed out that no one has raised the bulk of there contributions in any campaign in the month of December!

I am begining to take offense to people slandering my campaign because I have pointed out the facts a year ago that the Arizona Daily Star just wrote about on Monday!

The fact is GIFFORDS IS the 5th in the NATION in money raised for any Congressional race and is beating most candidates for the U.S. Senate!

For all of you experts on Political Campaigns NO ONE CANDIDATE ; including MO UDALL raised money for any campaign JUST TO RAISE MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will NOT be threatened by anyone to keep my mouth shut about GIFFORDS and her being the MILLION DOLLAR BABY ; in Campaign Demands for everyone and there Uncle while being listed as the 10th highest in $$$$$$$$$$$EARMARKS$$$$$$$$$$ in The Nation ; giving your and my Tax Payer Dollars to SOLAR PANELS being installed at THE DOVE MOUNTAIN GOLF COURSE!

I suppose you all love playing Golf at Dove Mountain???????????????????????

  2. By the way, Leicster or Chauvinist or whatever. At the risk of engaging “Your Crazyness”, your comments above about Giffords and Jews is about as offensive as anything I have seen in awhile.

  3. Cry me a River,

I can’t wait until your party and Tim Bee start the BS crap about Rule of Law and start bashing attorneys and lawsuits. This is a clear clear example of how the law means jack when it doesn’t suit the Republican party.

I am with Michael. As soon as he accepts a donation for office, he is running and should resign to run. If not, he should be waiting until he declares to raise funds.

Eh…I whine. Giffords is going to win this race outright. The folks Bee has been talking to must be stuffing Ruffies in his cool-aid. It isn’t just family, but this is his political career on the line. IF he loses to Giffords (and he will), he will never hold statewide office and will never escape S. Arizona as a politician.

  4. This AZ state law that you accuse Senator Bee of possibly running afoul of is within an inch of being unconstitutional (the first Amendment for those in need of crib notes). I am sure those who posted many of the negative comments against Senator Bee will surely remember them when Janet Napaalitaaano forms her exploratory committee and accepts much larger $$$ (while Governor) in the near future?

    Yah, I’ll bet not.

  5. Giffords raised $250,000 in so called donations to her campaign in December of 2005 BEFORE she resigned or anounced for Congress publically in January of 2006.

My question at the time was how did Giffords RAISE more money in the worst money raising month of the year Christmas than any other previous Democratic challenger raised totally for there campaigns?

I did not put TWO and TWO together until lately when I saw massive Jewish donations from Jewish businesses promised Tax Payer (Earmarks) as kickbacks if elected!

As you know The Jewish Faith does not celebrate Christmas and December is there most profitable month!

  6. You know my take on the life of a freshwoman/man congressperson – hardly holds a candle to being President of the Senate. And for a person with a young family – well, take a look at Giffords running back and forth between D.C. and here. However, having said that, it has to be terribly flattering – in the short run – for Bee to be the sole choice of the local Republican (monied) establishment. Should be very interesting to follow!

  7. Michael,

I don’t know how anyone could interpret a $2300 donation button on a Web site as anything but electioneering. He is running for office, period. The entire AZ GOP has stood down to clear his path.

For all we know, that Web site has gone six digit. That’s running, not exploring.

  8. Good point, Francine. I should think it way more fun to be running the Arizona Senate than a freshman backbencher in the minority of the U.S. House. Plus it is surely a heck of a lot less taxing on one’s family life when one has young children. I’m sure the Queen Bee is ambivalent about the King Bee’s ambition.

All that aside, I think that if he’s taking donation for the actual election, he’s crossing the line into electioneering and is making himself a candidate. I’m seriously contemplating filing a complaint with the FEC.

  9. Bee really needs to fish or cut bait (that’s the nice way of saying it) but apparently, he is trying to have it both ways. Typical Republican behavior. Myself, I wouldn’t vote for him if hell froze over but I hope others will see his behavior for what it is – pure opportunism. He had a good first session of the legislature and it must be heady stuff being the president of the senate and hard to walk away from. Also, just for the record, I don’t think he stands much chance of beating Giffords. The votes she makes that annoy “liberals” endear her to the Republicans she will have to hold to get reelected. My advice to Bee? Stay in the Senate – you’ll have more fun!

  10. Michael,

I share your sentiments and saw the article. I’ve already posted about this so held back. I’ve corresponded with a local newspaper reporter about the subject, and apparently Bee is TECHNICALLY OK, but the later this goes, the more the spirit of the law (my opinion) will pull on him.

I assume you’ve seen Bee’s website. He is soliciting donations up to the $2300 maximum. I think he’s making a mistake, especially if he doesn’t resign in January.
