Michael Bryan

Mikemonkeysuit Michael founded BlogForArizona as the Howard Dean campaign blog for Arizona in 2003, and has been blogging ever since. Michael is an attorney living in Tucson with his wife Lauren Murata, and serves as one of the hosts of the weekly political social club, Drinking Liberally, which meets every Sunday evening starting at 6pm at the Shanty on 4th Avenue. In 2008, following some health issues and new time constraints, Michael stepped back from regular blogging and began remaking BlogForArizona into a collaborative project. Michael now contributes occasionally to the blog and provides editorial and publishing direction.

Arizona Blue Meanie

Meaniepose The Blue Meanie is an Arizona citizen who wishes, for professional reasons, to remain anonymous when blogging about politics. Armed with a deep knowledge of the law, politics and public policy, as well as pen filled with all the colors stolen from Pepperland, the Blue Meanie’s mission is to pursue and prosecute the hypocrites, liars, and fools of politics and the media – which, in practical terms, is nearly all of them. Don’t even try to unmask him or he’ll seal you in a music-proof bubble and rendition you to Pepperland for a good face-stomping.

David Safier

David David Safier taught high school for more than 30 years near Portland, Oregon. His undergraduate field was English Literature, and he earned his Masters in Urban Studies. He taught English and photography and advised the school’s yearbook. In Tucson since 2003, he has immersed himself in the state’s politics and educational systems. He has been writing on Blog for Arizona since 2008, concentrating on state and national educational issues, and commenting on other topics when the spirit moves him.

Craig McDermott

CPMAZ Craig is an active Democrat (elected PC, LD officer, state committee member) who’s lived in Arizona for more than 16 years. He became politically active in 2006 when Harry Mitchell ran against and defeated then-Congressman JD Hayworth. Since then, Craig’s focus has expanded to cover many aspects of Arizona’s political culture, focusing on the profoundly dysfunctional Arizona legislature and state government.

Bob Lord

Bob4_color Bob is a tax and business lawyer who had given up on politics until deciding to run for Congress in 2008 (CD3), when he tried to unseat John Shadegg. He since has returned to his law practice and golf addiction. Bob has been writing for Blog For Arizona since late 2011, concentrating mostly on federal issues, with an occasional foray into Arizona state politics.
