Highlighting student-produced, 30-second public service announcements based on the theme “Creating a Safe Space for All,” The End of Bullying Task Force of CODAC, along with SAAF and the Office of the Pima County School Superintendent invite the community to attend and watch solutions to bullying through the video art of students.

Admission is free and there will be free popcorn, water and T-shirts for the first 200 youth in attendance. Following the film showcase, awards will be presented to age-based categories. This year’s showcase will also feature live music and a raffle for an iPad mini (you must be present to win this prize).

Carolyn’s note:  I’ve been to this PSA Showcase for a # of years and it is so encouraging to watch these student-made, creative short videos done by elementary, middle, high school students all about how to stop bullying at their peer level.  It is wonderful to see students address this issue and lend help/support to those being bullied at school or elsewhere.  Thanks to the Fund for Civility, Respect & Understanding to continue their efforts in this anti-bullying campaign.

  1. 16 PSA entries from several schools, with winners from Sam Hughes Elem. , Tortolita MS and City HS. Former Congressman Ron Barber was MC, with powerful statements from Jamal Givens of CODAC (new sponsor) that we adults should all be role models for the children in our lives, as there is bullying at work as well as in schools. Joseph Blair awarded the prizes of $50 or $100 gift certificates. Congrats to all to this beneficial anti-bullying program, now in its 4th year.
