Stupid Stuff I See In The Star

Posted by AzBlueMeanie:

I could not believe this story in the Arizona Daily Star today, 2 talk hosts advocate peace, but rants go on:

In the wake of the Arizona shootings, conservative talk-show host Glenn Beck issued a challenge to all Americans to reject violence.

Liberal talk-show host Keith Olbermann voiced his own call for repudiating violence.

Has Saturday's rampage inspired a measure of consensus and a softening of rhetoric among cable TV's more confrontational hosts?

Perhaps the reporter should have actually gone to Glenn Beck's web site to read his call to reject violence. Here is a screen capture:

Beck might have more credibility if he was not holding a gun looking like he is preparing to shoot someone. Geezus! Could you be any more tasteless and heartless towards those of us who have suffered a tragic loss? Is this supposed to be some kind of sick joke? What the hell is wrong with this sick bastard?

And how dare the Arizona Daily Star publish this false equivalency nonsense. The Star is aware of the threats and damage to the offices of Reps. Giffords and Grijalva over the past two years. Even Pima County Democratic Party headquarters has received threats and damage over the past two years. That the Star chooses not to report on these incidents in many cases, or to minimize their significance speaks volumes about the lack of journalistic judgment at the Star.
