FAUX News Fraudcasting's new reality TV series, "Survivor – GOP Presidential Primary," returns for a new episode this Thursday after a disappointing premier episode. Fox Flop, 'Survivor – GOP Presidential Primary'.
FAUX News Fraudcasting is hosting the third "Survivor – GOP Presidential Primary" debate this Thursday at 9:00 p.m EST from Ames, Iowa, just days before the biggest fraud in American politics — the Iowa Straw Poll on Saturday.
Having worked Iowa a couple of times, I can tell you that it is all about who can get the most supporters to show up and to cast their vote. And Iowans want be be bribed bought made to feel "special." They want you to wine them and dine them and provide them with free campaign stuff and you still have to make sure to call them personally and provide them with transportation to the event to make certain that they show up — and even then they may turn against you. And it's all purely symbolic.
Iowans have themselves a sweet racket. I don't know why Americans tolerate this. Iowans in no way reflect the views of average Americans, especially on the GOP side which is dominated by the Christian Taliban.
But the media villagers and Beltway bloviators love the circus atmosphere of this entertainment, which is why the very serious people will tell us in all seriousness that the Iowa Straw Poll is serious business, like this post from Molly Ball in Politico today. Ames straw poll will test strength of 2012 candidates – POLITICO.com:
For all its detractors who claim the straw poll has little predictive value, it has shaped every Republican presidential race for years. Even those who skipped competing — Romney, Newt Gingrich and Jon Huntsman — won’t be able to ignore the results. And those votes won’t be cast until after the debate — Huntsman’s first — two days before Ames.
You just keep kidding kidding yourself that the Iowa Straw Poll and the media villagers who have to cover it on assignment are relevant and important, Molly.
