Tucson Weekly endorses attorney Paul Durham for Ward 3 Council seat

The Tucson Weekly issued their endorsement today in the contested Democratic primary for the Ward 3 Council seat.  Councilwoman Karin Uhlich is stepping down after 3 terms.  The Weekly endorsed retired attorney Paul Durham, former Chief of Staff for Ward 6 Councilwoman Nina Trasoff.

Listen to Ward 3 Democratic City Council candidates on Buckmaster Show

If you live in Ward 3 of the City of Tucson and vote Democratic, you will be receiving a ballot for the upcoming primary for the Council seat, being vacated by 3 term Councilwoman Karin Uhlich.  Three Democrats are running — Felicia Chew, a teacher at Mansfeld Middle School; Paul Durham, former Chief of Staff for Ward 6 Councilwoman Nina Trasoff and a retired attorney; Tom Tronsdal, owner of Canyon Fence Company and also an attorney.  They will face off with Independent Gary Watson, employee at NW Fire Dept. in the General Election. (There is no Republican candidate running for this open seat.)

On July 12, all 3 Dems were in studio for a radio forum on the Bill Buckmaster Show (AM 1030 KVOI), airing 12 noon to 1 p.m.  Here’s the broadcast of the forum:

Watch Pima County Attorney candidates debate on AZPM

On Friday July 29, 2016 Arizona Public Media (AZPM, PBS Channel 6) hosted a debate between 5 term Pima County Attorney Barbara LaWall and her challenger political newcomer Joel Feinman, who worked for 8 years in the Public Defender’s office.  Both candidates are Democrats, so this is a primary election race (August 30), to face off with Green candidate Cyndi Tuell in the General election.
