Tonight at the Northwest Democratic office (Oracle and Magee), I was phoning a mixed group of Ds, Rs and Os (O=No party). My third call was to a 73 year old Republican woman. I gave my short "I'm a volunteer for the Arizona Democratic Party" spiel and asked if she had voted yet.
"No, and I have to vote tonight. I was going to vote for Jesse Kelly, but I just don't know if I can."
We talked person to person for about 5 minutes with me telling the truth about Barber's strengths and Kelly's extremism and lack of understanding of the issues. At the end, she said, "I think I'm voting for Ron Barber. Jesse Kelly is just too extreme." Score!
On a number of nights, I've encountered people who haven't made up their minds. My goal was to be the last voice in their heads, because an undecided voter is a persuadable voter, and that last voice can tip the scales in Barber's direction.
If we get out our vote and talk to enough undecideds, Barber wins. Otherwise, it's a crap shoot.
You can phone at Pima Dem Headquarters, 4639 E. 1st (near Swan and Speedway) 10am-1pm and 5pm-9pm. They need lots of callers. You can walk Saturday and Sunday out of Barber Headquarters, 3400 E. Speedway, 9am-4pm.
You can also call from the NW Office, 200 W. Magee, Building 200, Suite 150 (look for the Barber signs) just about any time.

Sadly for your very weak candidate many more people HAVE figured out who to vote for and it isn’t the bureaucrat Ron Barber .
