Teachings from a book on Perry’s reading list: Pray Jews and Muslims will come to know Jesus

by David Safier

Rick Perry wants to be a candidate for all the people — all the Christian people who believe in his brand of religion, that is.

A book Perry is reading right now is Charles Stanley’s "Turning the Tide." The "Tide" in the title is a "tsunami of death and depravity that we’re running out of time to thwart." Here are some of the ways Stanley sees to thwart the tide:

“Pray that Jews worldwide will accept Him as their Savior.”

"May the people of Israel acknowledge their guilt, seek Your face, and accept Your Son—the Messiah."

“Pray for God’s protection against terrorism and ask that Muslims through the world will come to know Jesus as their Savior.”

  1. Hi David. Small picture and my eyes are so great without the glasses out in my car, but don’t you play tennis at Ft Lowell? Don’t know if you go back and look at your comments but I was interested to see a familiar face. My name is Bill and I play on saturdays mostly. Tall guy in a tank top. Anyway, this Perry fellow seems to be the frontrunner without any real people supporting him outside Texas. Personally for Republicans I’d love to see Johnson from MN run. The first Rep to admit the drug was was lost and call for marijuana decriminalization.

I spent years running my own forum. The leftovers of the C-Span community. Killed to save money right before a major election. Called it “C-Span Sucks” for obvious reasons.
