Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard, to no one's great surprise, will be filing an "exploratory committee" for governor in June. How do I know? I was contacted and asked to add my name to a list of endorsers.
Expect an announcement when the exploratory committee is filed.
Recent rumor has it that former Tempe Mayor Neil Giuliano is considering entering the Democratic primary for governor.
Phoenix Mayor Phil Gordon is perpetually rumored to be interested in entering the Democratic primary for governor.
Former Arizona Democratic Party Chairman and 2006 U.S. Senate candidate Jim Pederson is still exploring his options.
Rep. David Bradley (LD 28) is exploring his options as well. If he decides to run, it has been reported that he would resign his House seat sometime this summer to concentrate on his campaign.
UPDATE: h/t to the Arizona Republic for pointing out that Jim Pederson has an issues "non-campaign" web site up called standupforarizona.com The web page opens with a splash video ad with good production value – watch it before clicking on "continue to site." The first video blog is a message from Jim Pederson that sure looks like a campaign ad.
"Stand up for Arizona" is almost as lame a campaign theme as his "I'll be an independent Senator who gets results and puts the people of Arizona ahead of party politics" senate campaign theme. Or worse, his "Jim Pederson: Nobody's senator but ours." You probably want to rethink this.
