The CPAC Plot To ‘Reinstate Donald Trump In Days’ (Yes, They Are Quite Insane)

For years the right-wing fringe freak show run by Matt Schlapp, CPAC, was thankfully one weekend in the Washington, D.C. area in January. Now Schlapp has monetized his grifting of fringy wingnuts and taken his freak show on the road, like ComicCon. ‘America UnCanceled’: Matt Schlapp goes beyond Beltway with CPAC Texas:

Matt Schlapp may be the consummate Beltway insider, but he believes the nation’s conservative power center is moving away from Washington — so CPAC is shifting with it.

Not only did the American Conservative Union host its annual February conference in Orlando, the first time the 47-year-old confab had been held outside the Beltway, but then Mr. Schlapp decided to throw another major gathering four months later with CPAC Texas, which [began] Friday in Dallas.

Grifters gotta grift.

You may recall that the February right-wing fringe freak show featured a golden calf, er, a golden idol of Donald Trump whom the sycophant attendees worshipped as a false god. (See above).

The insanity didn’t end there. Now they have a new insane idea. A 7-point-plan to reinstate Donald Trump as president ‘in days, not years’ was handed out at CPAC:

Attendees of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas have been handed cards outlining a 7-point-plan to reinstate Donald Trump as president ‘in days, not years.

The cards appears to have been made by a group called Patriots Soar, which was not affiliated with the event organizers.

The outlandish plan involves ousting House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and eventually installing Donald Trump in her place.

Donald Trump as Speaker would then call for a vote to impeach, charge, and remove “imposters” President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris.

As the Speaker of the House is third in the line of presidential succession, Trump would then take up the presidency again in this highly improbable scenario.

The plan hinges upon Republicans regaining control of the House, which they plan to do by pulling back the curtain on “the horror show” of the Democratic Party, causing groups such as the Black Caucus to “flip” sides.

The card links to a website that elaborates on the madcap scheme to reinstate Trump and claims to have proof connecting the Democratic party to satanic sacrifices.

The messaging alludes to popular QAnon-affiliated conspiracy theories that accuse the Democratic party of secret satanic abuse. A recent study found that around a quarter of Republicans believe that Satan-worshiping pedophiles control the US government.

The conspiracy theory that Trump will soon be reinstated as president has been popularised by prominent supporters, including MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell and the lawyer Sidney Powell.

The card also refers to the widely debunked conspiracy theory that the 2020 election was fraudulent, which has been rejected dozens of times in court.

Insider has previously reported that there is no legal path for Trump to be reinstated.

CPAC, an annual gathering of top US conservatives, [took] place in Dallas this weekend.

The Florida Man came out of exile in Mar-a-Lago (or is it Bedminster this time of year?) to deliver the keynote address. The Florida Man took a jab at the mythical moderate from Maine, Susan Collins, proving that she is an absolute fool and a fraud, by admitting that he is the devil.

Feeding the insanity of the right-wing fringe, Trump went on Fox News on Sunday to throw some more gas on the fire of this seditious insurrection plot. Trump praises Jan. 6 rioters as ‘patriots’ and ‘peaceful people’:

Former President Donald Trump has nothing but praise for his supporters who stormed the U.S. Capitol in January.

The former commander in chief called those who attacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 “peaceful people” and “patriots” in an interview aired on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

“The crowd was unbelievable and I mentioned the word ‘love.’ The love in the air — I’ve never seen anything like it,” Trump was quoted as saying by Politico. “That’s why they went to Washington.”

He also praised Ashli Babbitt — an Air Force veteran who was fatally shot as she tried to enter a blockaded passage during the siege — as an “an innocent, wonderful, incredible woman.”

“There is no repercussion. [If] that were on the other side, it would be the biggest story in this country. Who shot Ashli Babbitt? People want to know and why,” Trump said.

Portraying domestic terrorists as “patriots” has been a fringy right-wing thing for years. As for “peaceful people,” here is the “Day of Rage: How Trump Supporters Took the U.S. Capitol” video from New York Times Visual Investigations.

And “no repercussions”? The Florida man who incited the violent insurrection resulting in injuries to 140 Capitol Police officers, one of whom died, remains free. Had the cult members that Trump “loves” succeeded in their coup d’etat, Vice President Pence would have been hanged at the urging of Donald Trump, and an untold number of members of Congress from both political parties would also have been executed. This is a fact no one should ever forget.

Trump remains a national security threat because he has never ceased inciting the seditious insurrection fever dreams among his cult followers. The Department of Justice needs to take this seriously and accelerate its investigation of the January 6 violent insurrection, and charge this traitor with inciting an insurrection against the United States government, 18 U.S. Code § 2383 – Rebellion or insurrection, before he can incite a second seditious insurrection against the U.S. government.

The DOJ could have made a good start by rounding up everyone at this CPAC convention. Just sayin’.
