Here's a news site I just bookmarked and plan to keep my eye on: The Faster Times. It looks like a serious attempt at creating something that resembles a print newspaper, but totally online. My best guess is that it aims to fill a spot somewhere between HuffPo and a daily print newspaper.
Faster Times has over 20 people listed as staff, all with journalistic experience and some with serious credentials. They're almost all on the young side. It claims to have correspondents all over the world, which I take to mean, people who live in various countries who will report on events as they unfold.
This is a new venture. Right now it looks to be heavy on opinion columns, not news, which doesn't distinguish it enough from other online blogs and commentary. We'll see what happens. I'm one of those people who think a lot about the fate of print media and journalism in general, online and off, so this serious experiment is worth watching.
