The four sweetest words in the English language

Congratulations to the Green Bay Packers on winning the Superbowl. (You have no idea how difficult that is to say for a life-long Minnesota Vikings fan still waiting for that first championship).

Now that the NFL season is over, possibly for quite some time with the owners threatening a lockout in a labor contract dispute with the NFL players' union, NFL lockout: No more football in 2011?, thoughts turn to Spring Training and the four sweetest words in the English language:

"Pitchers and catchers report"

Ahhh! It still makes me want to strap on my catching gear even though I have not played in years. The first batteries are scheduled to report on February 13, 2011. For the full list of Spring Training reporting dates, see 2011 Spring Training Reporting Dates.

This year, the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chase Field will host the MLB 2011 All-Star Game on July 12, 2011. Diamondbacks season ticket holders have priority to purchase All-Star week event tickets, but you can register for the opportunity to purchase tickets in a random drawing at 2011 All-Star Game | MLB.com: Events. The deadline to register online is 10:00 a.m. on February 18, 2011.

If you can get tickets, I will be your friend forever if you take me! I have been trying to get into an All-Star game all my life.

Tucson will be home this season to the San Diego Padres Pacific Coast League farm team (at least for one year). They will play as the Tucson Padres.
