Who woulda thunk? You know the Texas economic miracle, where Rick Perry single-handedly made all those jobs with his own bare hands? OK, he never quite said that. But he certainly isn't shy about taking responsibility for the job growth in the state.
But look at this. From 2007 to 2010, Texas lost 178,000 private sector jobs. At the same time, it gained 125,000 public sector jobs — that's "nearly half of all government jobs created in this period nationwide."
Gov. Perry, say thank you to Obama and the stimulus, which helped keep your state's employment numbers up — along with, of course, all your oil, the inflow of illegal immigrants and the huge number of minimum wage jobs. You were planning to say thank you, weren't you?
