The next move for Randy Parraz and Citizens for a Better Arizona

After spearheading the first successful recall of a state legislator in the history of Arizona and the first legislative leader in the history of the United States, what will Randy Parraz and Citizens for a Better Arizona do for an encore?

The Arizona Republic's Political Insider gossip column reports today:

The next targets … Democratic operative Randy Parraz, who helped spearhead the effort to get the Russell Pearce recall on the ballot, apparently hopes to ride his wave of success over a few more anti-illegal-immigration conservatives in the next year.

Parraz has scheduled a media conference at the Capitol on Monday to announce the next targets. Rumor has it Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Gov. Jan Brewer will be on the list.

It looks like the Republic needs to do some reading. Here is the Phoenix New Times from a few days ago. Activist Randy Parraz Led an Army of Non-Partisan Warriors to Take Down Russell Pearce – Page 4:

Parraz's next target? He's returning to his first target, Joe Arpaio. No, not a recall, he says. The sheriff already is heading for a re-election campaign in 2012, so there's no point in starting a recall effort, which would need nearly 400,000 valid signatures to get on the ballot in a countywide election.

His CBA plans to be the tip of the spear, an independent-expenditure committee that can do attack ads, raise money, and dog Arpaio's every step.

So if there is a recall announcement, it will be the Red Queen, Governor Jan Brewer. She certainly has earned it with her abuse of power.

Randy, how come I am reading about a press conference in the Republic? Please check your press release list and make sure that Blog for Arizona gets your press releases. Thanks.
